FiddySicks
Pics of the Oilers:Those are great. Blue and orange is really quite a vibrant color scheme. It's too bad it's not used more often, it would make the league much more colorful. I'm wondering if Oiler fans would sincerely love to ressurect this look full time.Is it just me or does 71's jersey look enormous? Legend
Those Oilers jerseys look really nice, but that stupid rounded design kinda ruins the jersey as a whole. That part looks awful.

letterform
Pics of the Oilers:I hated this uniform when I was a kid but it has grown on me since then. The colours could work full time if they just downplayed the orange a bit. This uniform minus the orange yolk, and g-string collar, with white numbers would look awesome full time. Add a lace up and it would be divine. The white version is good as is. DEATH TO REEBOK
BigShoop
Just caught the Oilers third retros in action. They remind me how ugly those uniforms are. I know there are a lot of good memories associated with those uniforms but they are bright and gaudy and are something that should stay in the 80's and early 90's. The 97-07 Oilers uniforms that featured navy and copper are the best uniforms the Oilers have worn design wise. They were much more eye pleasing that the 80's uniforms. But they are old, which means they are automatically better! Come on man, get with the program. wheateater
A little something from the small details department:The Kings have added a white outline to the numbers on their black jerseys, making them triple-layer, silver-purple-white. Previously, the white jersey was the only one with triple-layer numbers. That's one of first things I noticed while watching the game last night. Makes the numbers stand out a bit more. Now if only they'd add the same detail on the arms and shoulder yoke (and maybe add a hem stripe?) to separate the purple from the black. jkrdevil
In a photo those Oiler uniforms don't look to bad but on tv watching the game they look horrible. You can't read the numbers for one thing. Secondly, because they use a large amount of bright orange with bright blue it's hard on the eyes. If orange was just limited to a trim color or the blue was darker it would look better. I still like the navy and copper better.
oakland ehs
If only Roli could play like him...Well Roli will probably have a better GAA than him, that's for sure. What? Where's your head?
ferrousoxide66
The Oilers thirds are already one of the best sweaters in the NHL right now. Absolutely beautiful. Blue and orange >>>> navy and copper (ugh, copper - just part of the horrible trend of "darkening up" team colors to be more intimidating. Posh to that noise).Bright, vibrant, historically respectful, and largely unique. Bravo.

Dark uniforms look terrible for hockey broadcasts because of the contrast.I agree about limiting the orange however. The orange numbers are too much and the retro 80's goalie gear is really ugly. Orange should be used sparingly with that shade of medium blue. It's too overpowering. It's the same with Roberto Luongo wearing green pads with their current unis. It's far easier to stomach with his new white pads. Speaking of goalie gear: imagine how sweet the Oilers would look with brown pads. The_Admiral
I think I figured out one of my problems with the Hawks' black sweater. For some reason, the Chief gets washed out and dull when put on black. It doesn't pop like it does on the white and red sweaters.Well, for one thing the black hair fades right in and there is less contrast between the colour used for the face and the jersey fabric on the black jersey compared to the other two. That's why there's supposed to be a gold outline around the Indian Head: ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Yes Fuhr was a much better goalie but Roloson has a better GAA simply because of the era he plays in.

Sport
Currently watching the Wings v. Canes. And the new uniforms in action are pretty cool.wow, they actually sprung for black pants and helmets. I think that makes them the only team to use a different pair of pants for an alternate uniform that is not a throwback. I still don't get the grayscale shoulder logo and they changed the hurricane warning flag on the hem to a different flag altogether, but otherwise it's a pretty good look. Also, is the chevron pattern on the sleeves also present on the socks? If so, cool.
