The OFFICIAL 2008 NFL Draft Thread

So far, we know that the Dolphins picked Jake Long (and signed him), and today, with pick #2, the Rams willl take...???

(Now, being that I don't have access to cable here where I am, and being that our internet service is a lil' slow here at my training site, Imma be looking in here to get my draft updates from you all, if I can't get the updates myself. :D )

One other thing: I know that the early rounds got cut from 15 minutes to 10, but what the hell difference does a time-saving measure such as that make if the NFL gon' push the start time way back to daggone 3 PM?!?

In any regard...team fans, partisans, homers, and everyone else, let's get this NFL draft party started, shall we?!?

------------------------------------------

NOTE: I'm already seeing and hearing different whispers that the Rams have pretty much zeroed in on Chris Long. Could it be legit? Could it be a smokescreen? Hmm...

Anyway, let's get going with this.

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

I posted this in the NFL thread but this should get more traffic so I will post it here as well.

My Mock Draft:

1.MIA-Jake Long (OT) Michigan

2.STL-Chris Long (DE) Virginia

3.ATL-Glenn Dorsey (DE) LSU

4.OAK-Darren McFadden (RB) Arkansas

5.KC-Brandon Albert (OT) Virginia

6.NYJ-Vernon Gholston (DE) Ohio State

7.NE-Derrick Harvey (DE) Florida

8.BAL-Matt Ryan (QB) BC

9.CIN-Sedrick Ellis (DT) USC

10.NO-Leodis McKelvin (CB) Troy

11.PHI-Ryan Clady (OT) Boise State (Trade up with Bills for #19 and #49)

12.DEN-Keith Rivers (LB) USC

13.CAR-Jonathan Stewart (RB) Oregon

14.CHI-Chris Williams (OT) Vanderbilt

15.DET-Jerod Mayo (LB) Tennessee

16.ARI-Rashard Mendanhall (RB) Illinois

17.KC-Dominique Rogers-Cromatie (CB) Tennessee State

18.HOU-Jeff Otah (OT) Pitt

19.BUF-Devin Thomas (WR) Michigan State (Trade Down with Philly for #11)

20.TB-Mike Jenkins (CB) South Florida

I really hope the Bills trade down get an extra pick or two and get Thomas. Then hopefully get Antoine Cason (CB-Arizona) in the 2nd round, even if they have to trade up to get him. Then they can get a TE like Davis form USC in the 3rd.

The Rams take Chris Long as expected, now the fun part begins. I don't really think that Matt Ryan will be a franchise QB, if I were the Falcons I would go with Dorsey.

Why is the draft starting so late today? Did ESPN really need four hours of pre draft coverage when the draft itself is nothing but sitting around and guessing who is being taken next

They changed the setup of the draft, only rounds 1 and 2 are today.

Round 1=10min/pick

Round 2=7min/pick

...and it is McFadden, no surprises.

YEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!! Now I don't have to worry about looking foolish for having Matt Ryan's potential Falcons' jersey as my avatar...although it's likely he wont be number 12. YEEESSSSS!!!!

Why won't he be #12?

WR Michael Jenkins, a first-round pick from 2004 currently wears #12. And being a Razorback, I don't know how I feel about Mcfadden being a Raider now. It took Justin Fargas until his 5th season to see any kind of playing time and he was a first round pick as well.
