jimsimo
Hmmmm... more piping and crap on the sides.I'm sure we'll see more adidas schools with this crappy template soon.
GFB
Well, it seems that there are some people in Michigan camp who swear that this is not the new away jersey. They say that the jerseys put on the table for the women camps were either the new practice jersey or only one of many options given to Michigan thus far... One of them says:THESE ARE NOT THE AWAY JERSEYS...#1 Why would they unveil the new jerseys at a women's football camp?#2 Why would they be replica jerseys if they did?#3 Why wouldn't the news or press be reporting ANYTHING?Here is the deal, the reason we've seen the home jerseys is because both Michigan and Adidas knew they were not to be changed/touched...so they've had them for awhile now. However, this picture is one of a few choices that Adidas and Michigan came up with together that the team will eventually select later this summer. When Michigan signed the contract with Adidas they did so that the coaches did not have to wear the same "model" polos or attire that other Adidas brand coaches do and so that they would have more input on what the jerseys would look like. Thus they have a selection for the away jerseys and we'll see what they pick. Now like I've said time and time again (since a month after the contract was signed) I was told that the home jerseys wouldn't be changed (which they haven't) except for the Adidas emblem in the location where it is (although I'd rather it be on the center of the collar like the NFL logo). AND I was told the away jerseys would be the same as last year minus the piping...so blue numbers with maize outline. Take it FWIW.I don't know if I buy this, but he does bring up a valid point... if these were the new away jerseys, wouldn't they have scheduled an official unveiling by now...,,.just saying... Vicious
yeah, thats what i was thinking. i also like the idea of just removing the piping and having a solid, plain set for the aways, they lookes so nice when nike did them, and i think that i would be happeir if they went in that direction.they looked very nice

Vicious
the free press article does say "which apparently is the new away jersey" so my guess would be that they know little more than we do about the authenticity of that jersey. -Vicious-

02Rover
The transformation from "old school Michigan" to "nu-skool WVU" continues. I sure hope UM doesnt schedule Pitt in a key, late season game.... **LOL***Any honest Michigan fan has to admit that this offseason has been a bad one, with all the character issues raised with thier new coach, and now the uniform transformation from traditional classics to toss-in-the-trash flavor of the month's. Bad offseason for UM and their fans.

Bad offseason for UM and their fans. You hear that? Sounds like a scared Ohio $tate fan to me... Umm, pretty much the only disappointment this offseason was not getting Terrell Pryor (but I think most Michigan fans knew he was an O$U lock from the start). Now we have a coach that can actually recruit, we almost completely restocked our talent after all of the seniors we lost (except at QB, when we have Newsome and Beaver coming into the fold in '09). Character issues of the coach? How about a bitter West Virginia who wanted to make his departure as difficult as they can? As for the uniforms, we don't even know if these are the real things... and if they are real, then it's only a slight downgrade from last year... Scared of what, looking for a new rival? C'mon, you can be excited about your new coach and hoping for the best... more power to you, but I doubt any OSU fans are too worried about Michigan's prospects to beat OSU for at least a few seasons. I live in Detroit, and most U of M fans I know are VERY nervous about this guy (Rich Rod). This is the first time UM has stepped outside the family, and change makes everybody a little anxious. He's canceled the coaches show, messed with the #1 jersey... now these leaks of "new school" uniforms . And whether you want to admit it or not, he does have some baggage. If this all goes sour, it wouldn't be the first time a big name school took a chance on a new direction and ended up having it all go wrong (Nebraska, maybe?).Oh, and when your school just weasled, not one but two coaches away from another school due to the fact that UM's alumni have more jack than WV's, you might want to spread a little of those dollar signs on your own $chool. "Scared" OSU fans because Michigan is now running a system similar to Florida who beat them in the NC game 2 years ago and Illinois who beat them at home last year. And Ohio State shouldn't have an issue with Michigan this year. They have an absolutely stacked team. More than likely will go to the National Championship game. But this change from Carr to Rodriguez reminds me of a Cooper to Tressel transition....Yeah, so what if we got two coaches from WV because we could give them more money? At least we keep our money in the hands of our coaches and not our players... I would rather get a kid who knows the name of his school. Where is this "University of Ohio State" anyways? I wouldn't be proud to have a player who claims he is going to 'Michigan University'. Newsome has about as much talent as Pryor, but seems to be much more mature, and serious about continuing to get better. Newsome is switching to Hargrave Military Academy, both to escape people pressuring him to go to VA Tech, including his coach, and to receive better coaching. He is the kind of guy I want leading my team, not a player like Pryor. Not saying Pryor won't be good, but I don't like his personality.
Proc
Let's not turn this uniform thread into a UM-OSU argument. Both are great universities with solid athletic programs. Both have had their fair share of success against each other. Let's concentrate on the thread topic of new, Adidas Michigan uniforms.
