The only wore the scripted New York one season

Did the Mets wear those before or after the '86 season?

They wore them for the 87 season. Then they wore 3 color NEW YORK block letters in 88. None of the players liked the 87 road jerseys , they said they were cut wrong and too tight.

Actually, 1987, 1993 & 1994 per the Hall of Fame database.

Now if we are limiting to with versus without tail swoop, then "only one year" would apply.

Pretty cool!

What exactly do you think is pretty cool? The blue caps? The script jerseys? When you post with two words, it makes it difficult for anyone to know what the hell you're talking about.

Yes I was referring to just the one from 1987. The Mets underscore uniforms was a two year nightmare that went away quickly and shall never be remebered again.

I forgot that the New York script was only for one season (then they went to the block letters IIRC.) I guess I was more referring to the racing stripes on the sleeves and sides. Even after all these years it looks odd to me to see the Mutts without them.
