THESE are the Mets I remember. It's all relative - these are the Mets I remember! The only wore the scripted New York one seasonDid the Mets wear those before or after the '86 season? They wore them for the 87 season. Then they wore 3 color NEW YORK block letters in 88. None of the players liked the 87 road jerseys , they said they were cut wrong and too tight. oz615
Well the Mets were back to looking ugly yesterday. Hopefully they wear pinstripes today...Good news is that they are in pinstripes today, the bad news is that they had to **** it up w/ the black caps. njmeadowlanders
Now if we are limiting to with versus without tail swoop, then "only one year" would apply.Yes, I assumed (I know, when you assume....) that was in reference to that particular, tail swoop-less jersey pictured... BBTV
Pretty cool! What exactly do you think is pretty cool? The blue caps? The script jerseys? When you post with two words, it makes it difficult for anyone to know what the hell you're talking about. The Mets underscore uniforms was a two year nightmare that went away quickly and shall never be remebered again. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
BBTV
I love this. THESE are the Mets I remember. It's all relative - these are the Mets I remember! The only wore the scripted New York one seasonI forgot that the New York script was only for one season (then they went to the block letters IIRC.) I guess I was more referring to the racing stripes on the sleeves and sides. Even after all these years it looks odd to me to see the Mutts without them. f-ing palko
I remember back in 1998, the Mets played a double-header at Shea, and wore the Blue hats with the black jerseys. It was terrible. Anyone else remember this?
