Prediction: Soul 56 - Sabercats 49.

Wow you were close to it. But did the Soul try to give that away or what? Good game and exciting finish.

You need some deodorant - no fix. Just a team that committed fouls and got caught doing it.
You don't consider it coincidental that the Sabercats scored 14 points in 11 seconds? One more touchdown, and I think they would have covered.

Oh looky. Boston and South Florida again.

IMHO, Boston's a non-starter.

* If Jeremy Jacobs doesn't own the franchise, said team will be financially hamstrung by an exorbitant lease agreement at the TD Banknorth Garden and get seventh choice of game dates after the Bruins, Celtics, Beanpot Tournament, circus, concerts and Blazers.

* If Jeremy Jacobs does own the franchise, he won't spend a dime on putting a competitive squad together and the team will get sixth choice of game dates after the Bruins, Celtics, Beanpot Tournament, circus and concerts.

What about Agganis? Too small?

Oh, and that was a pretty good game. First ArenaBowl I've watched. Nice ending.

Hard for the Sabercats to win the game when they had to play against two teams - I smell a fix.

I saw the game, no fix, the Sabercats just were caught with the penalties. The Soul were the better team

Whats over?

Philadelphia is still suffering they have not won a championship in a Major sport since 1983. Arena Football is minor league.

I'd say you are suffering much more than Philadelphia is.

Arena Football is totally major league! (at least for today)

Philadelphia vs. San Jose for the title would be my guess.

The real guessing game begins after the season though, trying to figure out which AFL teams will be back, which will move, which will fold, and what suckers David Baker's lined up for new franchises in 2009.

Expansion may be on the agenda

I really like Pittsburgh possibility. This is a strong football towm (obviously). We had one of the original teams that hosted the first arena bowl so theres arena football history here, and were getting a new arena. Second time could be a charm for us.

No, I consider it incidental if anything. Philadelphia played well enough to win, San Jose didn't.

Uh wah?

Why would they want to fix the point spread in arena football?!

Well, since the Arena Bowl is tomorrow...

San Jose 27, Philadelphia 0 in a defensive slugfest.

uh wow NO WAY in hell is it going to be a shutout, give more credit to both teams, what is this the NFL??? My prediction 73-70 Philadelphia
Giving credit to both team's defenses. Look at it this way, it might be the first shutout in AFL history.

There have been shutouts in the af2, at the least.

Wow, really bad game today for the Cats. They made a ton of stupid mistakes and Philly took advantage of it. Congrats Jon Bovi and Philly.

Or maybe Jaworski...

Him too. They're both pretty good GMs.

So what's stopping the Eagles from hiring this guy?

Couldn't hurt.

He openly campaigned for the job back in 95. He wanted to be GM, and have Vermeil come back as coach. Vermeil was on board with the plan too. I forget the exact reason why it didn't work out, but eventually the job went to Ray Rhodes, and... well we know how that worked out.
