jkrdevil Posted August 9, 2008 Share Posted August 9, 2008 It was actually better on the BBC broadcast because when he first got the torch they had a wider shot so you really couldn't see the harness. As such you were surprised when he was lifted up. On the NBC coverage they had an up-close shot where you could clearly see the harness and thus could tell what was coming next. Also for those wanting to catch lots of Basketball and Soccer, if you have Directv they have two dedicated channels to those sports in addition to USA and MSNBC so you should be able to watch most of the games live if you decide to stay up alate (or get up early). Heck, if this was any indication, they were going to laughed at well before the olympics The lighting of Beijing one was great. I was wondering how they were going to light the flame given the stadium's design and how it seems the cauldron in the past two decades are elevated above the rest of the stadium. The Olympics are a nice alternative for a couple weeks when there's typically nothing else on but mid-season baseball and preseason football. It's something that's not regularly shown on TV...might as well watch it.
