Best Playoffs

who do you think has the best playoffs of the four major sports. If you want you can choose the NCAA tournament as an option. Here's my order

1. NHL (I love the length of it all, nearly every player is playing hurt, there is always a cinderella team, and the winner gets the best trophy in sports)

2.NFL (I only put this here because of the super bowl spectacle every other game is kinda regular)

3. MLB (While a lot of great moments come out of it it is usually the big teams that I don't like that win)

4.NBA (This is last because I hate the NBA and don't care who wins) :hockeysmiley:

Wow this is a tough one the NFL is probally the best since its single elimination.

However the NHL and MLB playoffs are very exciting to and March Madness is another story too.

This is a tough one they are all good if you ask me and all have their own wortheness.

Baseball and Basketball (including march madness) can't compare to Hockey and Football playoffs, beasuse in baseball and basketball there is no contact do you don't play through injury as often. Hockey I put over football because there is at least over 4 times as many games a player must play than football. Plus, the trophy you get at the end.

NHL

NFL

MLB

I'd say NFL isn't as good because it's single elimination (although there's no other option).

The NHL hands-down, the playoffs are two months long, and the champion has to win 16 games, and that usually takes about 24 games to do it. NBA's the same, but it's not as intense, hate to be a homer but look at the Leafs in 2002... injury riddled throughout the playoffs, yet somehow made it through the Islanders and Senators in gruelling 7-game series, before dropping in 6 games to Carolina after all their players come back.

Goooooooooooo NHL.

For the best tournament, I give props to the Memorial Cup Playoffs, the same amount of teams as the Final Four except teams play Seven-game series to advance.

2. NHL-Those suddent death games are soooo good

3. MLB

4. March Madness

5. NBA

NHL - 2 months of pure intensity, plus, like Mac said best...trophy...in...sports.

MLB - It's a completely different game during the Series.

NFL - aside from the Super Bowl being the biggest event of the year, playoff football sometimes falls a little flat, especially when a games is one-sided.

NBA - blah, blah, blah... I'll watch the last 5 minutes of the Finals, and that's enough basketball to hold me over until next year.

i like the intensity of the NHL playoffs. but hate the blown calls that have determined games, stupid refs.

March Madness is second because of the first two weekends worth of games (32 and 16). the "Cinderella" stories keep unknowns intresting.

NFL third due to "loser leave town", "one and done".

As a former basketball player, i say boo to that comment, there is plenty of contact, plus we have no pads or helmets and what not. Don't sy that comment to Iverson, I think he plays with injury almost all of the season.

NHL Playoffs - Considered the best, even by Hockey Haters

NCAA Basketball Tournament - THE Tournament of Tournaments

NFL Playoffs - Some great games, plus the Super Bowl... hard to beat that.

I think the NBA made a major mistake last year by extending the first round to a best-of-7 series. While it does not make the interminable NBA playoff season longer (they stopped putting three or four off-days between first round games, which is about the only benefit), it does reduce the possibility of upsets in the opening round.

the thing about the NBA is that only once in a great while does a team go on a cinderella run. The favorite usually always ends up winning and you can kinda predict who's gonna win just by the seeds. In the NHL there is a cinderella story yearly. None of them have won, but a few have reached the finals such as The north stars, the canucks, the panthers, carolina, and last year the ducks.

NFL-single elimination, everything on the line, plus the SuperBowl. and its the best sport out of all 4

MLB-it can get pretty exciting in the world series, and unlike some people i love watching baseball

NHL-it is exciting and the ot games are great but hockey running into june just shouldnt be

NBA-meh, its runs too long the powerhouses always win it seems and its not close most of the time

while I love hockey--the playoffs drag on too long--the players are bat by the end, so the conference finals are ususally better hockey--still overall they can be exciting--

My choice though is the CFL--there's a reason they use the word "Classic" to describe the Grey Cup game--most are close--and not decided until the 4th quarter (for drama)--lots of memorable plays and actio as well--

But playoffs in most sports bring something out in the best teams and players.

NHL- While I don't personally like the fact that 16 of 30 teams make the playoffs, I do think they have a solid setup. Playing a best of seven series in a full contact sport intesifies and starts rivalries (see Blues vs. Canucks -tonite at nine central actually-). The varies ways emotions flow in these playoffs is the best. Also, the Stanley Cup as a trophy is the best.

NFL- Football season is great, and for it, single elimination all on the line games are great. With a smaller number of teams in the playoffs, one win in the playoffs may be an upset, but you can't call it a fluke because they got there.

MLB- It's pretty exciting just because of what baseball is. The fact that it doesn't take that long to get to the series (a best of 5 and a best of 7) helps it out. Going for that World Series is just awesome. This is hard to describe, but they're just good.

NCAA- The tournament is fun. Lotsa cinderella's, anyone has a chance. And brackets are always fun to think about for me. Someone HAS to go underfeated throughout them.

NBA- As mentioned before, less cinderella's here. Just not much fun. Plus, I have limited interest in the league without a St. Louis team.
