CCM and Koho are the same company anyway, so it doesn't really matter which is on it.

Ditto Jofa, the logo of which is on the officials' sweaters.

Another reversal sighting tonight.  Red Wings in red and Minnesota on the road in white.  Now, a lot of teams will wear white on the road because their opponents are planning to wear their third jerseys.  Example: Minny is on a two game road trip with their next stop in Nashville.  My guess is that the Predlys will wear Grey Poupon for their game vs. Minny.

NHL home teams in dark next year

tsn.ca Staff

12/12/2002

New York (CP) - Home teams are going to be a lot more colourful in the NHL next season.

Reversing a policy in place since 1967 expansion from the Original Six days, the board of governors has decreed that white jerseys will be used by road teams beginning in 2003-2004.

The change will allow home teams to wear dark jerseys regularly, and since popular third jerseys usually are dark, merchandising departments of all 30 teams applaud the switch because they know colourful jerseys sell better.

Team equipment managers are happy about it, too.

Most clubs want to wear their third jerseys at home, and they make arrangements with visiting clubs to allow for it. Visitors bring white in such cases. Trouble is, a travelling team then has to lug around two sets of jerseys because its next stop might be in a city where the home team will be wearing white.

The result: extra bags and extra laundry.

Extra bags have been bothersome due to tightened airport security in the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, and getting uniforms cleaned in time can be a hassle when a team plays a road game one night and a home game the next night.

Next season, teams will have need to travel with white-based jerseys only.

The proliferation of third uniforms that forced the change saw 14 teams enter the 2002-2003 season with the extra jerseys. The Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Islanders bumped the number to 16 in recent weeks. At the current time, no additional NHL teams are scheduled to introduce third jerseys this season, the league says.

This is what is rumored:

Phoenix - New dark and white, third is gone

Calgary - making changes to their dark jersey and unveil a new third.

Florida - changing their red and their navy jersey

MY SUGGESTIONS:

Anaheim - bring back the Nike alts but make it plum, not the jade it used to be.

San Jose - let go of the current third and in 2005, unveil a new third (a black version of the white)

Tonight the Maple Leafs are wearing their blue uniforms at home voluntarly for the first time since 1991/92 (last time was because the ducks left their roads in anaheim a few years back)...  is this a sign of things to come?   ???

Didn't the Ducks come into the league in 92-93?

I forgot to add an important part to that... it was the only time since 1991/92, other than the incident with the ducks, which was like 1998 or 1999.

In 1991/92 they regularly wore blue at home, as did the rest of the league on account of the NHL75th anniversary for half the season.

LA wore their whites in St. Louis last night as well.

As far as the issue of road whites goes, I'd like to see a few teams switch to drop-slanting their city names down the front of the white sweaters and using mini-crests on the shoulders.
