MLB Playoffs

Well I figure that since all but one of the matchups are set, and there could be a mini-playoff to determine that playoff, we can start discussing the Playoffs.

Predictions, etc. too.

Also, we have just learned that Beckett might be out for the playoffs, or at least the first round, due to an apparent oblique injury. :censored:!

Right now it's:

LAD-CHC

PHI-MIL

LAA-BOS

TB-MIN/CHW

If the White Sox lose tomorrow, it's Minny, and if they win, we get a nice old-fashioned playoff.

Divisional Playoffs

----------------------

Cubs in 4

Brewers in 5 (Idk, just have a feeling. And you know that some wild card team's going to advance.)

Angels in 5

Rays in 5

League Championships

----------------------

Brewers in 7 (You know the Cubs will find some way to blow it.)

Angels in 6

World Series

--------------------

Angels in 5

There you have it: My misinformed, miseducated, simply on a whim predictions for the postseason. :D

Not that I wish harm on anybody, but...

(dance):boogie:(dance)

No kidding.

There IS hope, however. Terry is saying at this very moment Lester 1, Matsuzaka 2, Beckett 3. Tentatively. He did in fact have a strained oblique after a bullpen session.

My favorite team of the ones left is easily The Angels. I have liked them since Arte Moreno bought them. Plus, I work nights so I am always watching them on MLB Extra Innings when I get home. Still, I'll find it awfully tough to root against Tampa Bay.

No idea who will win what but in order of preference who I am pulling for.

1. Angels

2. Rays

3. Dodgers

4. Brewers

5. Twins/White Sox

6. Phillies

7. Cubs (I am usually all about the lovable loser but too much of The Cubs thing seems more like fashion than anything else. I know they have their die-hard fans but there are also a lot of people following them because it's fashionable. Just an opinion Curty and I do not include you among the fashion fans. :D )

8. Red Sox

Sorry if I'm a bit biased, but this season has shown me that anything can happen.

If the Cubs win the World Series, they become "just another team". MLB needs the Cubs to be the "Lovable Losers".....

Folks stop talking about a stupid "Billy Goat" curse and start talking about a "Florida" curse. :P

As a fan, I'd love to see a Minnesota-Cubs series.

As one who'd love to stick it to MLB, though, I want Tampa-Milwaukee. Small markets FTW.

I couldn't agree more.

Is it really sticking it to MLB if Selig's team gets in?

I was just about to say, the World Series in Milwaukee would be like an early Christmas gift for the Bud.

I will start my official previews in a few days round by round

NLDS

Dodgers 3 Cubs 2

Brewers 3 Phillies 2

ALCS

Angels 4 Rays 2

NLCS

Dodgers 4 Brewers 3 (eat you heart out Hank Steinbrenner)

World Series

Angels 4 Dodgers 2

So - running by the predictions that have been offered to this point ... the team that inspired the Brewers to fire their manager ay the conclusion of a four-game series sweep in September and have to fight like hell just to retain what looked to be a certain wild card slot all of a sudden can't win a best-of-five series against same team? When they have home field? When they want to redeem themselves for being caught up in the Rockies buzzsaw a season ago?

Yes, I am immensely biased. I just ask people to not so quickly dismiss the Phillies.
