Tampa Bay Buccaneers to wear orange throwbacks in 2009

I just got my throwback replica and I have to say, the orange is WAY lighter than any other Bucs throwback jersey I've ever seen. It reminds me a lot of U of Tennessee's bright orange, but with a shade more yellow.

Any way you could post a photo taken outside in the daylight with other bucs jerseys if you have one ? Would like to see the difference in the shade of oranges

As soon as I get my other Bucs throwbacks out of storage (In a week or so, hopefully), I'll do just that. I can say that this jersey is DEFINITELY lighter than my others.

Sometimes the flash from the camera photographed indoors changes the color representation.

There should be a noticable difference in shades from the 90s. In my research of color photos from the 1976 season, the shade of orange on the numbers on the white jerseys they wore were a light, pastel, yellow-orange. The reason they wore only white jerseys that year was after they wore the orange jerseys at home in their last pre-season game against the Dolphins, fans setting high in the stands complained that you could not read the white numbers on the orange clearly. The next year (1977) they "darkened" the light orange slightly and changed the orange numbers on the white jerseys to red. At the press conference a few weeks ago, the team stressed how hard it was to match the correct shade of orange from the 76 season. Hoping that stores aren't trying to pass off old 1990s orange jerseys as the 76 throwbacks. Is it documitted on the jocktag of your 76 throwback jersey that it is indeed a 1976 throwback replica ?

I have a 1976 Bucs Style Guide sheet. The "Florida Orange" WAS a tad lighter in those days, but prior to 1980 or so, NFL teams weren't using Pantone/PMS colors - everything was supposed to match to the color chips on the sheets.

Once Pantone colors began being used, it changed a number of teams' colors - Tampa Bay's and San Francisco's for certain, and Dallas.
