You know, I was able to do some thinking driving home from watching the game at the Phillies spring ballpark in Clearwater. At the beginning of this series I knew my allegiances were split, as the Rays are my team and have been since the beginning in 1998. Yet from 2006-2007 I was employed by the Phillies in Clearwater and have seen many guys who are currently Phils (Hamels) or are Phils of the future (Greg Golson, Lou Marson).

I can't say I'm upset that my Rays lost and the Phils won, it's more the fact that my adviser in college would not approve of me doing my internship in Clearwater after working there for 2 years (long story, rather not go into it). As I stand there at the tiki bar in left field, watching with former coworkers and friends, the Phils beat my Rays, I felt a part of me was missing. I knew the time for both the Rays and Phils was coming, and I had not anticipated it happening at the same time, but for this was the Phillies time and I was content with that.

I know that this is just the beginning of the Rays time. We weren't expected to get this far. A winning season would have been successful in my book. But to look back at the Rays 2008 season, I'd have to say it was great. We took the division crown by beating our heated foes the Yanks and Red Sox, and to earn the right for the World Series, we had to go through Boston again. All in all, it was a very successful season and I look forward to many more to come.

Congrats to the Philadelphia Phillies and their fans, thanks for making the Rays 2008 season a memorable one.

We are all forgetting the worst part; a couple months devoid of the greatest game on the planet.

There, fixed it for ya.

And thats always the worst part about the clinching game of the world series. It means baseball, the greatest game of them all (In my opinion anyway) is gone till April, and a absolutely hate that. I always get kinda sad watching the credits roll by on that final broadcast. Thank God for the World Baseball Classic bringing it just a bit closer next season.

But hey, Phils (AKA Not the Yankees) won. RiverCats won. It was a pretty good year :)

We are all forgetting the best part; a couple months devoid of boreball, err baseball!

Hmmm...The Falcons are decent, the Hawks are good, the Thrashers....errr, the Wild are looking good. I've gone a month without Braves baseball. I can go a few more. ^_^

I feel good for Brad Lidge. Great way to cap off a great season after his Houston postseason had been hanging over his head.

Congrats Phils and Philly.

Though I was rooting for the Rays, it felt nice seeing the Phillies win. Now let's hope those fans don't go to the next Eagle home game and get thrown in Lincoln Financial Field Jail (you guys must be pretty rowdy to have a jail in your stadium. Now let's put a jail in Dodger Stadium, I've heard some horror stories about that place).

My congrats to BBTV, who I'm betting saw it in person.

Not tonight - shot down by three security guards. Watched from center city. Pics to come when I'm fully alive.
