So back to the Red Sox, according to a poster on UniWatch:
The Red Sox new road jerseys were up on MLB Shop last night but are now gone.

They were really plain with BOSTON across the chest in really dark navy blue with no outline.

Shoot, no screenshots or anything?

Plain like '86 World Series plain?

Probably just like the Salem version we saw a while ago. Nice look, IMO.

I hope not. That said, you're probably right.

In my opinion, the Blue letters - on a Gray jersey - without any outline whatsoever are so plain as to be ugly. There's no visual "pop". Further, it strikes me that this is a case of "change for the sake of change".

Maybe Blue letters with a red outline would have been okay. That said, I was perfectly happy with the Red letters outlined in Blue on both jerseys.

Usual font but just blue now...Not plain font. They are obsessed with that font now. No sleeve patches either

The two socks alone? So the circle logo becomes an alternate?

I think that makes them less recognizable as a brand, to have so many varied logos.

Well maybe they want to outshine the Yankess and say - "See people will recognize us just by these two sox, and you have to have the the initials of your city for people to know who you are."

The city so nice, they named it twice..

Walla Walla?

I'm sure we're going to hear "woe is me" Larry Lucchino whine about how now that the Yankees have their new stadium the Sox need to come up with "alternative revenue sources" to pay Mark Teixiera's contract, so they're coming out with these new uni's and hats.

After all the Sox didn't raise ticket prices this year, so they have to find a way to fleece their fans even more.

And yes, I'm a Sox season ticket holder.

Manny Delcarmen is a local guy - he's from Boston, so asking him to pop over to Fenway probably was more for convenience.

"Manhattan is the other name."

Quick: how many teams have primary logos without words or letters anywhere in them?

I can only think of one-Cleveland.

and that's the best one.

and, yeah we're the only one :)

I've always kind of thought that the Rockies could have a cool cap logo by using a stylized mountain peak design.
