I guess the Dr. Pepper logos from the Big 12 championship game hadn't faded out enough and an "Extreme Makeover" was needed. Usually, the shileds are the smaller ones near the sidelines at about the 25-yard lines.

I guess it's because I think the arrowhead logo at midfield has always been too small, so putting something else on the field helps.
