How'd a cat get in the stadium?

Too bad it wasn't a black cat or can anyone verify if the cat was from Philadelphia?

Well when we look ahead in the next 20 or 30 years and if the Mets still haven't found success we can call it the curse of the orange cat.......... it was orange or some sort of cream color right?

I posted this in the ball park thread.

The outfield is enormous at that park.. I wouldn't be surprised if Reyes gives the season triple record a run for its money this season.

Josh Beckett has been suspended 6 games for his role in starting the Angels/Red Sox bench clearing incident.

This sucks because I have him on my fantasy team and he's gonna miss a start because of this. Way to go.

6 games is a bit steep here, and I'm an Angels fan. I wonder if this is MLB's way of making up for him not getting ejected in that game. From what I saw, which is just the highlights, he should've been tossed. If Abreu would've marched towards the mound, he clearly would've been sent packing.

It's only one start, especially if they time the suspension right. That's fair.

Glavine may retire if shoulder doesn't improve.

It's probably time for that to happen. It's been a good run Tommy. Now bring the other Tommy up.

Agreed. Judging by his play over in Gwinnett, Hanson's ready for the Show. It's been real, Glav, but I honestly think that his impact on the team would have been minimal at best this year.

Matsuzaka has already given up five runs (and counting) in the first inning of the Red Sox game against the A's. He's had no life on any of his pitches so far.

Edit: He made it out of the inning after giving up "just" five.

I hear they are gonna bring Jo Jo up. I really hope they don't.

Ughh, they probably will just so they can have a lefty in the rotation, but I'm ready to see Hanson pitch, however that would be 5 Righty Starters and when Huddy gets back that will be 6, at least they are all good though. Also, am I the only one who is wishing we had Griffey right now instead of Anderson?

No argument here. A few years ago when he was with Oakland some of my friends and I caught them in Cleveland. We had seats in right field down near the foul pole. Only once did we have to yell "O-H" for him to respond with the I-O arm gesture. I thought it was so cool as most players act like there aren't thousands of fans around them.

I'll also take this time to make my assessment of this season's Cincinnati Reds. The Reds problems since about 2001 have been that they were loaded with offense and power, but didn't have a pitching staff to hold up the runs the bats were producing. This problem shifted slightly last season and we ended up with a team that had trouble scoring timely runs, playing defense, and the pitching was actually okay. This year we've lost Adam Dunn, and Griffey, but the pitching staff looks pretty good. The rotation looks like Harang (who should return to form this season), Volquez, Arroyo, Cueto, and Owings. I like the way that looks and the bullpen is pretty solid as well and. The new problem is foreign and that is who is going to score runs for this tea? If Joey Votto and Jay Bruce continue to get better then that's a little production, but I don't know where else the runs are going to come from. My prediction for the finishing record of this team is 85-77, 3rd place in the NL Central behind Chicago and St. Louis.

No, you are not the only one that wishes that. Kelly Johnson is still killing the ball though. So there is one bright spot.
