The Mets are just not competitive at this point, they have gone as far as they could with all the back ups and cant go any more, but our General Manager dose not see that.

Not trying to be rude....but...the Cincinnati Reds haven't been competitive for nine years, but I'm not bitching after every loss. There is still half the season to be played. Easy for me to say because even with last year's homerun leader and arguably our best starter out, we're still only 2.5 games back! But really God forbid the Mets don't make the playoffs every year.

See, you don't understand. You don't have Omar Minaya as GM. You didn't have Willie Randolph as manager. You couldn't possibly understand.

Does Dave Littlefield and Lloyd McClendon count?

Or even the current GM and whoever the manager of the Pirates is now.

(But then, the Pirates ain't been competitive since Bill Clinton first took office. Yeah--put that one into historical perspective.)

Tim Lincecum tossed his third complete game of the season tonight by getting just as many hits for himself as the Cards did all night, two. Right now he's gotta be the top candidate for the Cy Young. The way it looks right now, the only pitcher at this point who really poses a threat is his own team mate, Matt Cain. If the Giants can get a big bat at the deadline, this team is gonna be SCARY.

Sean O' Sullivan makes another good start for the Angels since his call-up a few weeks ago as Juan Rivera and Kendy Morales CRUSH two home runs to dead center.

The Halos take the first game in Texas 5-2, and take a 2 1/2 game lead in the division. The largest this season.

This is a huge series in Texas against the Rangers. Have to win this one. They've overcome all of the early season horrors (Starting pitchers on the DL, Adenhart's death, cold bats early, the bullpen in shambles, relief pitcher injuries) and have finally caught and taken a lead on Texas in the AL West. Now they have to start getting some distance. They have two more in this series, and then the Rangers come to the Big A next week.

This team is starting to come together at the plate and on the mound. Extremely excited

Hilarious to think that Jays GM JP Ricciardi offered Alex Rios straight up for Tim Lincecum two offseasons ago, and the Giants actually took more than .00001 seconds to say no.

How different these two teams would look...

Eric Hinske will soon play for his 4th AL East team - the New York Yankees. They acquired him from the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash considerations. I wonder if he will actually end up playing a game for them...

Well Nady is done for the year, so it's possible.

I was gonna originally mention that, but you have to realize that it was even worse than that. The Jays originally offered Rios for Matt Cain, and Brian Sabrainless was the one who actually brought up the idea of dealing Lincecum AND two others for Rios and a minor leaguer, but luckily the Jays stalled and Sabean's advisors were able to talk him out of it. But this is the same GM who dealt Francisco Liriano, Joe Nathan, and Boof Bonsner for AJ "Chemistry Killer" Pierzynski.

Pirates Trade: Njyer Morgan, Sean Burnett

Nationals Trade: Lastings Milledge, Joel Hanrahan

I don't know anything about Morgan or Burnett. Good luck with Hanrahan and maybe Milledge will live up to his potential (?).

Well, here is where the ride gets fun...

The M's have taken two out of three from the Dodgers and now, they roll into New Yankee Stadium for three against the Yanks. Two out of three is nice, but I want a sweep!

GO M's!
