Now, about that sleeve patch of the 2009 Mets... how uninspiring one!!! They have money to buy some good players but... NOT a good designer??? Please!

Due to the international economic crisis, if the Mets wanted a cheap and good sleeve logo, they should ask around the CCSLC forums for one. :P

I wonder how long will customers will be allowed to order pizza in Citi Field. Do they got 30 minutes?

I know, bad joke.

You can improve that joke saying with this way:

I wonder how long will customers will be allowed to order pizza in Citi Field. Do they got 3 innings?

After that, let's say:

I know, very good joke!!!

:D

The jersey patch is most certainly displayed at an angle:

Not here...

That picture is a of a jersey being sold on eBay by a seller named SofaSurfer, he knows jack about jerseys he is the king of mis-attributed jerseys on eBay.

My jersey was done by Stitches they are the ones that customize the jerseys for the Mets I think they know what they are doing. If you look at the Citi Field logo it is not straight it is at an angle and that is how it will be worn on the jerseys.

I hate the patch but as a Mets jersey collector I had to have one with the patch on it ugly or not.

And just to confirm:

So I don't understand this... will the patch be displayed at an angle? If so, that's just plain stupid. This is a disgrace to baseball! :cursing:

And another thing... does the Citi Field look similar to this too? Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I need answers.

This is just another very sad example of the Mets completely destroying their image and their branding. Everything from destroying one of the classiest pinstriped uniforms in baseball - to this revolting and comical looking stadium patch. I've seen both ballparks too, and while the Yankees have constructed a iconic cathedral in the Bronx, the Mets have built a cute little ballpark in Queens with almost nothing in it that pertains to their own franchise. This organization has become a complete and totol joke.

I read on baseball-fever yesterday, There have been talks of a Morgan Stanley/Citi merger with the CEO of Citi sayin Citigroup wull be no more in 12 months and that the government will be the CEO. While some said the Citi Field name is not effected by the merger, other have said dont get too comfortable with the name Citi on the stadium.

Could we Morgan Stanley Field or Morgan Stanley Park.... Bad news if there is a name change in the future is that it would become the second name of a stadium not even 5 years old. Good news is, Mets can replace the mistake of a logo that is Citi Field.

The brokerage merger makes it less likely that the Citi name will go away - Citigroup is shedding its wealth management divisions to concentrate on banking.

I agree that Citigroup will probably be broken up, that doesn't mean Citibank will cease to exist. The "Citi" in "Citi Field" will continue to refer to the retail bank.

The concept - Mets selling themselves to Citi and calling themselves "honored" when the Citi-designed logo deigns to incorporate Mets team colors - is revolting enough.

It's not revolting until the Citi logo actually makes it onto the uniform.

This logo is just bland.

And as for "some of the classiest pinstriped uniforms in baseball," I have to disagree. Let the Yanks have the monopoly on NYC pinstripes. My favourite Mets uniform combo is the "snow white" uniform with the classic blue hat/orange NY mark.

Which, fortunately, is against MLB regs. Thank you, Bud. But their "thank you, sir, may I have another" attitude is still revolting. No self-respecting organization sells its collective soul so cheaply.

Couldn't agree more. That's classic - the pinstripes are just a cheesy echo of the Yankees.

I disagree completely in terms of the Mets classic home pinstriped suit.

The Mets wore a pinstripe only home uniform from 1962-1996, and while I like the Mets all-white uniform, it looks horrible with the two tone cap which they should ditch immediately.

The Mets classic pinstripe uniform sans the awful drop shadow black, with their standard royal blue cap, is a classic look.

When they wear the pinstriped uniform as presently constituted, along with the two tone cap...it looks, revolting.

I like the 86 home jerseys. Those are unique and really cool. They did a throwback game a couple of years ago and I loved it.
