The New Orleans paper's Saints beat writer is warning fans to get ready for Deuce McAllister's departure.. I understand the business side but as a fan, I'll be very sorry to see Deuce go. A warrior on the field, one of the best and classiest players ever off the field, a guy who gave as much back to New Orleans as he got for playing. Whatever happens, I wish him the best.

Always loved this play, where Deuce left John Lynch with nothing but a nice souvenir from his visit to the Saints' backfield. :D

Sylvester Croom hired as Rams RBs Coach.

Considering the work he did with Jerious Norwood & Anthony Dixon at MSU, this is a damn good hire for the Rams. Stephen Jackson's probably going to be all-world for the next few years. Say what you want about Croom, but RB was never a problem during his tenure. Instead, it was probably the strongest position on the offense. Solid position coach hire for the Rams, and it's good to see him get work.

I like the thought of Crooming defensive coordinators.

Impartial thoughts: Even though a lot could change from now until Week 1...the Steelers don't got THAT much of a difficult schedule. Pittsburgh has a damn good shot at repeating. Outside of the AFC North, they'll only have 3 difficult games. Once again, a lot could change come September 09, but it looks good for them.

As for the Falcons...Jesus Christ, that is a deathmarch.

Holy cannoli! There's no way my guys are finishing 10-6 again.

But crazier things have happened... like last season...

So much for the thoughts of "Minnesota Nice"...

http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/39470607.html

Lester Bagley, the team's vice president of public affairs and stadium development, provided biting remarks Wednesday about the lack of engagement from Gov. Tim Pawlenty and intimated the clock could be ticking on the Vikings' time in Minnesota if something doesn't happen in the current legislative session.

"With all due respect, he's been governor for six years, and he hasn't done anything," Bagley said of Pawlenty. "He hasn't lifted a finger to engage in a problem-solving discussion to help us on our issue. And that's the frustration that the NFL feels, that our ownership feels and a lot of our allies [feel], whether they be elected officials or not. There's a lot of frustration, and there's been no meaningful engagement by the executive branch."

Well Miami did get to 11-5 by slipping by the AFC West and NFC West, along with other AFC division losers.

Just sayin'...

I don't think so, I think the defensive side will be a much more difficult job. The offense just needs a second Wide Receiver, a good Tight End, and a couple more Linemen and that offense can work. Maybe sign Kurt Warner

Well lets see who they have at WR shall we?

Calvin Johnson, Reggie Ball, John Standeford, Kerry Colbert, Travis Taylor, out of any of the names I see the only one I can recognize is CJ. If the Lions were smart go out and grab TJ Houshmandzadeh and maybe grab a rookie receiver in the draft.

I just meant it was funny, given that draft after draft after draft, they kept picking recievers when they needed other things... like a whole new team.
