Right, but to set your "goal" to something that's never been done, and declare the whole thing a failure if it doesn't happen... you find this logical? I just can't.

Well, you always have something to strive to, that's the point.

Kevin you are walking into a brick wall better known as Will Morris's train of thought, there is no way of derailing the train so you just be sure to move out of the way and ignore

That is utterly ridiculous. I can't even form the words to describe how ridiculous that really is.

"You just won the title, but you didn't have 40 scheduled games and win them all running away, so you're fired." Really, why wait for the end of the season? Fire the coach and replace all the players once they lose one game, right?

Not as impossible as it seems - Arsenal ran unbeaten a few years ago in the EPL. It can be done, and I wouldn't be happy as the AD of UNC unless the Tar Heels were doing it consistently in all sports. Remember, we're looking for a commitment to excellence - and 39-1 is not an excellent team, as they failed.

Will. As a UNC fan, I assure you that no UNC fan is upset with this season. Please stop.

Wait a second, that actually might have made sense......well...maybe not.

I do see what you are saying, always try to achieve the impossible, always have something to play for, however, a national championship is not a failure. 30 wins is not a failure. You are awarded zero points, and may god have mercy on your soul :P

Kiev, that's the mistake we've all tried to make at some point. We try to use logic when there is no logic in Will's opinions on sports. :P

It wouldn't be a major American championship game without willmorris coming through and saying some crazy nonsense.
WillMorris has spoken. The Tar Heels can now officially begin their celebration...then head straight to practice as punishment for falling short of 40 wins.
To be honest, I want to see a class be able to say they were four-time unbeaten, national champions, with 160 wins on the career. Anything less should be considered a failure at UNC, given the talent they have.

Besides, if you set high goals like that, you are bound to be driven to succeed. It's just like setting a goal of 38 wins in the EPL, or 96 wins (in 96 games) in the NBA, or 173 wins (in 173 games) in major league baseball - you have to set goals to reach, and anything less is a failure.

Well, at least you're undefeated, in the completely crazy department.

Will probably just does this :censored: to get attention. We're all sheep. :P

So...let's talk about Blake Griffin...anyone see him not going #1? There is no Derrick Rose level guard in college, but Spanish PG Ricky Rubio is likely to make himself available, so I think one of those 2 will go #1 overall. The big thing is going to be Griffin's actual height. He's listed at 6'10", but is more like 6'8" (just like Mike Beasley last year). Rubio is a legit 6'4" and though he looks 14 years old, he's been on the uber-elite prospect radar for at least 3 years. Also, if he declares, Haseem Thabeet is going to get a long look. He's 7'3" and can really change the game on the defensive end. Too bad he'll be almost an offensive liability at the NBA level initially. But hey, they said the same stuff about Patrick Ewing, right?

I can't wait to see who else throws their names into the Draft. I enjoy this part almost as much as the games.

So, to no one's surprise, the UConn women went 39-0 and won the championship.

That's a failure, right Will? Fire Geno!

Well, they did allow other teams to score on them. So yep, total failure.

Depends on who gets the number one pick. If the Kings get it, it will definitely be Rubio.

So far the only names I have seen that may come out are Chase Budinger, James Harden, Blake Griffin, and Jodie Meeks. This should be a decent class this year.

It's worth pointing out that Arsenal didn't win all 38 games that season. In fact, they drew 12 times -- nearly every third game. They left 24 points on the pitch out of a total of 114. In other words, the Gunners were able to collect only 79% of the available points during that campaign. Seems to me even Arsenal failed.

My NCFAB team is ditching me!

But, Teague didn't sign an agent. More than likely he'll pull out like Ellington, Lawson, and Green.
