Cujo 4,796 Posted January 23, 2009 YOU'RE FIRED!, you backstabbing son of a b*tch! After sub-par gigs in New York and Kansas City, I can't see Herm as a head coach in the NFL ever again.
JQK 1,124 Posted January 23, 2009 YOU'RE FIRED!, you backstabbing son of a b*tch! After sub-par gigs in New York and Kansas City, I can't see Herm as a head coach in the NFL ever again. Bitter much?It was shady what he did to the Jets, but i always thought Herm as a good coach. He had a good thing with the Jets, then went to KC, where nothing really ever clicked. He'll get an assistant job, and may get another head coaching shot in the future.

At least that's what Adam Schefter thinks.
See Red 2,091 Posted January 24, 2009 Considering Adam Schefter is always right and Mortenson has been wrong quite often, well, I'll take Schefter's word for it.
jkrdevil 12 Posted January 24, 2009 While Herm might not the best NFL coach he strikes me as a guy who would do real well at the college ranks. I could see him going into the home of a recruit and selling his program. He isn't the best in game coach but at the college level that isn't as important in the NFL (See: Pete Carroll).

scottysprings 144 Posted January 24, 2009 I never liked Herm when he was the Jets' HC; He has such a strange and irritating demeanor, especially during press conferences. Can't forget he's not too great of a decision maker either Good for the Chiefs, better luck with your next coach.
tBBP 2,573 Posted January 24, 2009 I personally wouldn't mind Raheem bringing Herm back into the Buccaneers' fold as d-back coach again...

TrueYankee26 1,127 Posted January 24, 2009 I hated him when he coached the Jets. Well at least he showed emotion when the Jets made a bad play, unlike Mangini.
the admiral 28,760 Posted January 24, 2009 I don't get it. Does showing emotion make you a better coach? If you're a bad coach, you can stand there stoically and grit your teeth, or you can stomp your feet and throw your headset, and it doesn't make you better or worse. Lovie Smith does the former, Jon Gruden does the latter, and they're equally underwhelming at their respective jobs.
TrueYankee26 1,127 Posted January 24, 2009 They care about their job. Well, I guess..... Eric Mangini doesn't. Mangini doesn't give suggestions to his team. At least Lovie Smith, and Jon Gruden went to a Super Bowl. And the latter has won it too.
