oddball
I happened to be flipping channels tonight and caught Game 1 of the 1988 World Series on Prime Ticket (Fox's other channel out here on the west coast use to be Fox Sports West 2). So I'm watching it and just amazed at how the players look human, and Mike Scioscia is 500 lighter! I can say that since he was my favorite player. But in the broadcast Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola are talking about claims by someone that Jose Canseco had used steroids. Canseco denied it and said that he got his muscles from working out. Canseco said that what disappointed him was the image that would project to kids in Miami, I guess that's where the report originated. So I sat there a little flabbergasted and internally asked, "If he was so worried about what taking steroids or the appearance of it would have on kids back in 1988, what changed? When did he stop caring about kids? Or is the sad reality, he never gave a damn and he's been using all along?"
HedleyLamarr
Canseco didn't have a book to sell in 1988.....
oddball
I was talking about him using steroids, if he cared then, what changed to make him not care and take steroids? I'd love for someone to ask him that question, of course I suspect the A-Fraud answer, "I was young and naive."

Once that went away he got desperate and said the kids. Not that he ever really cared in the first place, dude tries to bed 15 year old girls. Have people really not figured this out yet?
