In 5..4..3..2..1
The San Francisco 49ers have announced that they?ll be donning new uniforms for the 2009 season. The duds will be unveiled on April 25, in conjunction with a team-hosted Draft Day event.Early thinking is that the uniforms will look a lot like the threads that Niners wore during the Bill Walsh era. This was on PFT
Cujo
I'd like to see the 49ers mix a little of the new with the old.Keep the current logo. Also the dark red/burgundy, especially the red facemasks. That look is great! I'm indifferent on the black, but number shadowing has got to go. This list could go on and on forever, but I'll stop here.
BJBerthiaume
I think the throwback style uniforms are in good accordance with the old-style coaching Mike Singletary will bring to the table next year. He is probably my favorite coach in the NFL now that Dungy retired.

Billy B
The three main things I hope they do is keep the current shades of red and gold, keep the red facemask, and get some gold on the jersey.
sc49erfan15
.If this is a Falcons-Cardinals-Vikings update, I am going to be one disgruntled fan.At least I know to hold off on any prospective jersey purchases.

dennisbergan
I think the throwback style uniforms are in good accordance with the old-style coaching Mike Singletary will bring to the table next year. Please, no more throwback uniforms. Enough, is enough. The current 49ers uniforms were fine. Its the rest of the organization, that is a cluster-you-know-what. "Championship colors"? You mean red jerseys and beige pants? Yes, those were sure snazzy duds. They couldn't be that stupid, to go back to BEIGE pants, could they? They looked stupid, in the 80's, let alone now. With Singletary's pathetic coaching staff he has assembled (worst pair of coordinators in the league), and still no QB who can win big, that franchise is going nowhere, no matter how "old-style" Iron Mike tries to be (see Ditka, Mike in New Orleans for reference). TFoA
If they go back to the throwbacks, I'm gonna be hot. Throwbacks will not automatically bring back the glory days, plus they'd be a downgrade.

DomTheAthlete29
I'm hoping for a clash between new and old, both have some very well done parts, and some down right ugly parts as well.

Cujo
Regardless of what the Niners decide to do with the new unis, I think we can all agree that this needs to come back!...

JayJaxon
We also gotta wonder if they are trying to go in a whole new direction. They might just ditch tradition and try out some new stuff.
Chief.
Lets cross our fingers.I fear it'll be piping everywhere with something like this on the helmetI'll rage if that's the case. Then again, I'm one of those who wouldn't mind every team wearing throwbacks full time.
ColeJ
as with the dolphins, i feel that a simple removal of the drop shadow would make their current uniforms near perfect.that, and changing the gold outline in the helmet logo to white... when on a gold background, it should really be white, imo.
