TruColor
Nothing generic about the new 49ers script. Fits right in with the logo and the then-new identity. So you've seen the new look?I believe he is talking about the Niners current script, wich does match the helmet logo font, but as a wordmark, sucks hippie balls. The old wordmark is lightyears better. The new(er) wordmark is staying. Jigga
You guys realize that barnesdesign designed that script, right? So?I won't go so far as to say it sucks hippie balls (I think it's just fine and is a better "fit" with the logo), but just because a CCSLC member designed something does not mean we all have to say only nice things about it. Ben Barnes does great work, but if it were a Phoenix design, it would be okay to trash it? That's some bull right there. There is a large community of designers here. No designer gets 100% praise for anything they do. Just because it's a fellow CCSLCer's work, it's not immune from criticism. MEANS
the old wordmark just looks so dame dated and has the same problems with it as the Colts and Lions, now i'm still not sold on the new wordmark either though. https://www.andrewsterlachini.com/ or http://dribbble.com/MEANS1974
IceCap
It's a shame. If they just fixed the helmet striping the current 49ers set would be perfect. Hopefully this new look will be "retro inspired" instead of just a rehash of the Montana unis. andrewharrington
I want something with a little now and a little then. As long as it's original (unlikely), I'll be happy, I think. LEWJ
Didn't someone from these boards make the newer 49ers wordmarks? nvm: I should probably read more into the thread. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

cappital92
The old script to me says "Old West", while the new script says "Football". So, they need to combine elements of both for a script that says "San Francisico 49ers". http://www.wizardsxtra.com Is it the shoes?

Shumway
I want something with a little now and a little then. As long as it's original (unlikely), I'll be happy, I think.I kind of like these, actually. The socks are NFL-illegal, but I think if you cut off the red sock and had the bottom half white, it'd work nicely with both uniforms. I think the helmet could use either a red outline on the SF, or a red SF(with white outline, perhaps).
IceCap
The new wordmark isn't that bad. At least it's unique, at least when compared to the Broncos/Falcons/Seahawks/Texans/Bengals clones we've been seeing. Braden
I like the current wordmark. It matches the logo pretty well.I'm crossing my fingers that they make minor changes.
Burning River
I like that the "49ERS" word mark now matches the "SF". The only thing I don't like is the underline of "ERS". Remove the underline and the word mark would be improved. I too like the uniform set they have. I don't mind the black accents.
