Chief.
Currently, I'm working on this logo requested by a former teacher of mine. He does freelance art and wanted a "fish" logo for his business. I need to get to work right now, so I won't go into extreme detail, but here's the progress (starting with a very bizarre sketch) and the current draft:The WTF stageProgress in IllustratorCurrent stage: UPDATED: 2-20-09Thanks for any help! TLChandler
I'd say the only areas it needs work are the fin and mouth. The fin maybe just fill in light blue and outline with brown without the blank space. Also, the mouth just looks kind of awkward. Looks great though excited to see whats next. Gothamite
Looking pretty good. I rather like the mouth, although I agree that his dorsal fin shouldn't be so much in shadow.Get him a cap, and you're well on your way to a Madison Muskies concept. Shumway
You've got a great start here, Chief. I'd work in some details/highlights/shadows now and see how it looks. Right now, I see very few things to change what you've got so far. I liked the way the fins were pointy on your second idea. I'd take your current look, and taper the fins to a point from how you have them. Right now, I keep thinking of a manatee when I see the fins. Also, the dorsal fin looks like it flattens out and comes to the point towards the front. I think if you smooth it out, making it more round, it'll render a bit more nicely. Like I said, it's a great start. Some simple shading or highlights would probably go a long way in completing this.

TalktoChuck
Looks great, but the dorsal fin needs to look more like a fin. Lessen the shadow on the fin and you're well on your way.
jake22
The end fin kind of looks like a tail of a fox or something, like the inside blue part. great work though
Chief.
It's updated with the fin tweaked. I'm trying to add some definition to it.

Chief.
I got a response back on the logo:Looks good... See how a celtic cross might look like as a background shape...Have enclosed some examples... You can take it from there...THANKSAny suggestions? I'm racking my brain trying to incorporate a cross into it (he's a religious guy, that's where the fish suggestion initially came from).

I'm racking my brain trying to incorporate a cross into it (he's a religious guy, that's where the fish suggestion initially came from). It's going to be tough to incorporate a cross with this current form of the logo. I feel like you'd have to make the fish significantly smaller and thinner in order for that to work.
