1stDownCreative Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 i was messing around in illy today and thought this might make a nice pujols number 5 logo
CAB Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Wow. You are really producing some nice concepts on here. That is a great logo, I don't think Albert would mind using that himself. My only suggestion would be to use something other than a 5, because theres a few other players with that number, maybe use an A or a P.
elliott Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Pretty nice, my only suggestion would be too clean up the edges of the white shape in the center to make it a pentagon, then it would look like home plate (more). Dribbble ... Behance
JayJaxon Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 That is a great looking logo. I think the red number 5 is perfect for Pujols.
1stDownCreative Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 heres a couple others with just an a and ap5
chestnutz Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 first one is best. But I don't get what you're trying to make with the white space. An arrow? Just make it a completely straight pentagon, no extra triangles. erikas | go birds | dribbble
TalktoChuck Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Clean up the white space and its good. I'd either go with the A or the 5. The AP5 is to big.
The_Admiral Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 The first one is my favorite. My fear was that it'd be something goatse-related. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
TrueYankee26 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I say the 1st one is better. The 2nd concept "a" reminds me of the Hitmen of the XFL. trueyankee26.wordpress.com
oo_nrb Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 First one, definitely. I agree about cleaning up the whitespace. How about turning that into an "AP"? Dunno how good it'd look, but it might be worth a try. 2011 Colorado Rockies | Season from Hell
karby65 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 i was messing around in illy today and thought this might make a nice pujols number 5 logoIf you want to put an AP in the original, you can by putting thin white lines to create the AP at the base of the home plate (outside corners to inside corners) to create the A and a similar line to create the P above the right side line. It would be more compact, and say AP5 in once character. Hope this makes sence.
1stDownCreative Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 im not sure people understood what i was doing with the home plate...the darker areas are the shadow....here is that shadow at 50%and here are 2 ap logos...one with just an ap where ther is a small home plate in the center pf the p and the other is the 5 with a ap mirrored inside
scottysprings Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I still think the first draft is the best of the bunch. Simple and effective. The others are seeming to be too busy and complicated for my tastes. Great job, though.
elliott Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Yes, first is the best, the others take away the simplicity. Now I see what you were trying to do with the shadow, problem is, it doesn't really look like shadowing when it isn't gray. And, no where else is there shadows. I would just get rid of it. chestnutz Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Yup, just lose the shadows on the 5 and you got a winner. There isn't shadows anywhere else. erikas | go birds | dribbble
TalktoChuck Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 The first one is by far the best. And I kind of like the shadowing.
McCall Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Other than shrinking the width just a bit (just seems a tad TOO stretched), I think the first one is absolutely the best. All the others seems too forced. He is by far the most well-know player wearing #5 right now and, add the read and navy, and it seems pretty obvious it's Pujols.Actually, I've using that exact same shading technique and placement (though in gray) when working on our (Springfield Cardinals) potential champion/playoff logos last season and this upcoming season. (I've never posted them here so you obviously didn't rip me off )But all-around frickin' awesome. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
JayJaxon Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Have you thought of using similar shading on the '5' to match that of home plate?
qbeezy313 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 The updated version with the "a" and "p" in the 5 are money. You might want to try a cleaner version without the crossed bats and maybe bevel the "5". Nice job. I would lose the nike logo but that's just me...
