oldschoolvikings
There were four NBA teams that did this last year: Los Lakers, El Heat, Los Suns, and Los Spurs. This season, four more have been added: Los Mavs, Los Rockets, Los Bulls, and Nueva York. In a study I read, it listed the percentage of fans that attend these teams' games that are hispanic. Much higher than I realized, actually:Oddly enough, "El Heat" is my porno name. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
Ludachrisc23
more importantly--is this the first time the lakers wore white for a non-sunday home game? i can't recall when they wore LOS LAKERS last year, and which uniform they used

I figured MLB figures would be higher.I can vouch for San Antonio having a pretty big hispanic fanbase. I know when I was driving through there a couple of summers ago, they had billboard ads for the Spurs that were entirely in Spanish, and this was all over the city. STL FANATIC
I'm with Gothamite unless someone can seriously convince me that you're not allowed to say a noun in Spanish with out an article.I say The Lakers. They say Los Lakers, but the jerseys ought to just say Lakers. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
Mingjai
With the large Chinese presence in LA as well as the popularity of the NBA in China, maybe we'll get to see Lakers jerseys that say:湖人In Chinese, there are no articles, so there's no way they could get away with adding the Chinese equivalent of "the" to Lakers and calling it Chinese. Legend
For "international" I would think it would include more than just Spanish.I would rather see a team do a week of all countries represented in the NBA or something more widespread than just the Latin demographic. Have a Russian night, Latin night, Chinese night, etc.
knox
They should just translate the team name. No article, when rendered in English, the article isn't there. It looks tacky, and in the way the NBA does it these days, tacked on.GIGANTES and CERVECEROS are perfect examples of how to do a "latin night." The_Admiral
"Inconformistos" is so cool, that the Mavericks should just become that full-time.I don't wanna be a Pepito, which makes sense, since I wouldn't wanna be a Nugget either. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

ShinyHubCaps
If you're going to include the Bucks in this, you'd better find out the Spanish equivalent for "suck"Why? It doesn't say that on their jerseys. Plus there are a lot of teams that suck more than the Bucks.Los Spurs and Los Mavs wore their Spanish hybrid jerseys last week, to the disappointment of many. FirearmofMutiny
I'd love to see the Wolves pull out a "Los Lobos" jersey.
MDC
I know the Bulls are doing this with "Los Bulls" later on in the month, but I think if they just replaced the Bulls script with "Toros" it would be super badass. When teams throw in an "el" or "los", it comes off as blatantly racist to me. If it doesnt say the on the jersey, it shouldnt say Los. It should be whats on the jersey, but in spanish. ---Owner of the NHA's Philadelphia Quakers, the UBA's Chicago Skyliners, and the CFA's Portland Beavers (2010 CFA2 Champions)---
