LEWJ
(So far all I have is the home uniform.)For this concept I really wanted to make the White Sox look traditional, moreso than they already are.So to achieve this, I decided to drop the pinstripes and add some throwback piping/stripes (I don't know what to call them). It's kinda like what the Portalnd Beavers recently did, which I really like.I also dropped silver/grey altogether, which I think gives it a cleaner, more traditional feel. And finally, I changed the number font, to liven it up a bit, I think with a plain block font this would be all-to boring.V.3:V.2V.1Tell me what you think.C&C pleaseI'll Work on road uniform later* | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
BJBerthiaume
The piping is a little too much for me. It really seems to stick out for some reason. I like what you did with the numbers though. Tone down the piping a tad and this is probably the best pinstripeless Sox concept I've seen. I'd enjoy the Twins beating them even more in these uniforms. JayJaxon
I don't have a real big problem with this, but it looks like you are using two different shades of black. I'm going to assume you are meaning to use one shade.
The_Admiral
I think you took the pinstripes off their uniforms and set the numbers in Times New Roman bold italic. How can you be "more retro than they are" if someone typed their backs in Microsoft Word? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
patsox
Everything looks good except the number and name font. MLB Block would look better IMO.
LEWJ
thanks to those who provided positive critiquei will work on the roads later tonight and update theseand jayjackson, ill fix the color problem. bohob
The numbers are killing all the other good things a little. However, I don't think you properly executed your jersey piping. On the side view it looks like _l_, but on the front and back views, it looks like _l l_. Clean that up and change the numbers, and you are on the something. (You could go with MLB Block, but I would try some other block number options to make these more interesting. LEWJ
Alright I fixed the color issue I think, and I fixed the piping problem.I also changed the number font to something traditional, but it's not block font. It's similar to what the Expos used to have.V.2Lemme know how you guys like this and then I'll start the road, I think. Also, as much as I want to put the Sox logo on the road jersey, I'm not too sure if I will, what do you think? | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
cappital92
Where did you get the Expos number font? http://www.wizardsxtra.com Is it the shoes?
LEWJ
Where did you get the Expos number font?Well it's not technically the Expos number font, it's from a set of NCAA basketball numbers I have.Any comments on the concept? | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
bohob
Since you have the extra piping on the jersey, the pants should have more piping. Perhaps around the belt, like the Braves have. The_Admiral
Black and white with no silver just isn't interesting to me, I'm sorry. Also, I don't understand the shoulder stripes. I do like that number font, though, just not necessarily for this. dgnmrwrw
I agree that this needs some silver to add some depth. But the design is very nice. It's clean and balanced.I don't think the Sox should go away from the pinstripes as the primary, but I'd love this as an alternate. patsox
That number font is sweet. I couldn't think of too many non-block number styles that would fit the White Sox better. The only thing I would prefer would be to see the front number lowered some more.
LEWJ
Alright So I decided to go with the pinstripes, which they currently used.I chose not to add silver back to the scheme, I think it's much cleaner looking.I think it's a winner, what d'ya think?C&C Please | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

The_Admiral
Well, you should use that typeface for the numbers and write out CHICAGO in a radial arch, black trimmed in white. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
