letterform
I really hope they don't change the whitecaps' unis significantly. The current uniforms are my favourite of all time. They gotta keep the band around the middle. They better not add generic adidas stripes. DEATH TO REEBOK
Gothamite
They'll definitely be adding Adidas stripes. But I hope you're right and they can keep the banded shirts within an Adidas template. MJWalker45
If Vancouver yells loud enough maybe they can have adidas do for them what they did for Ajax and have the stripes match the jersey color.
cubbies06
Nice mock-ups , Goth. Would LOVE to see Whitecaps and Timbers join Sounders in the league. "We root for the laundry"(Jerome Seinfeld)

TalktoChuck
I saw this on the web today. I thought it might be the new Whitecaps logo but I amnot sure. Can anyone verify if this is the new logo?
KevinMcD
^^^^Looks nice, but I doubt it is the real logo. The team was just announced a week ago, no way do they have the uniforms and logo all set. It is probably just a concept put together buy somebody.
Krona
thats terrible. it looks like either a vodka or bottled water label. i like the idea of going back to the 86ers
Gothamite
It's a BigSoccer boards concept - a redress of Arsenal's shield.SFAIK, the Whitecaps haven't even confirmed that they'll be the Whitecaps (preliminary reports of a "name the team" contest), much less put a new logo package together. -kj
The 86ers? Really?Much like Seattle and "Sounders," I don't see how Vancouver could possibly not be the Whitecaps. Gothamite
Neither can I.I think it's more PR than actual contest. From what I've read of Whitecaps fans, they're about as crazy for the current name as fans in Seattle and Portland were for theirs.Besides, moving all three clubs into MLS is just too elegant to blow with rebranding. gordie_delini
having two clubs with the same name in two leagues is kind of ass backwards to me. Either pick a new name, change the USL club's name, dissolve the USL franchises, or switch to a freakin' relegation/promotion system for cryin' out loud.this thread will explode in 3...2...1... -kj
The USL-1 club will most likely fold, but I imagine they'll keep their academy, PDL, NPSL, W-League.... Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! hecticbro
Now that the MLS has officially gone Northwest (which would have completely surprised me 2 months ago), is there any word of Vancouver and Portland will change their identities when they enter the league? I image the Whitecaps and Timbers names will stay, but I think both of these logos could stand some modification:While the Timbers logo provides a good foundation and maybe just needs a little modernization, I wouldn't be sad to see the Whitecaps logo go the way of the dodo. Not only does it look pretty generic, it also falls in the trap into which many other sports logos fall--the unnecessary inclusion of a soccer ball (like baseballs in MLB logos or basketballs in NBA logos). If the two teams are going to be rivals of the Seattle Sounders, they should at least be able to rival the logo:Geez, are all three teams going to wear green?
