smith03
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Mikancolor picture of George Mikan in a green and gold Mpls Lakers uniform. I always thought the team just wore blue while in Mpls. Just say NO to gray facemasks.
AsM29
Hmm, that's interesting. I wondering how accurate the color is in that picture.
Joshawaggie
That's gotta be the baby blue color. That pic is just old and probably of lower quality to begin with. @josh_j12 CFA- Fargo Bobcats

DelayedPenalty
Just judging by the skintone and the color of the ball I'd say the color is probably correct. This pic here looks decidedly green also. Could just be the old photos, or color correction gone wrong perhaps?
Gothamite
Not that it has any bearing on the color, but the original caption of that photo refers to the "Milwaukee Lakers".Looks more teal in this picture: The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! AsM29
I'm not doubting that the jerseys are green, I'm just wondering how close the actual shade was to what we see in the picture.

AsM29
In that photo it looks more green than the first picture you posted.Right now I'm definitely leaning more towards the green side since so far we have 3 pictures with green, and 1 with teal. Gothamite
Yeah, but look at the skin tones. The color's obviously way off - I wouldn't use it as evidence of anything. This one's obviously been retouched, but maybe the colors they chose might or might not tell us something: The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Coast2CoastAM2006
trusting in Pantone's research.heres what he has listed for the Minneapolis Lakers 49/50 - 56/57 seasons:57/58 - 59/60 seasons:then we have the BAA Minneapolis Lakers 48/49 season:the picture in question on Wiki states it was taken in 52. So the correct colors should be powder blue/yellow/white. I don't see a point in time where the lakers wore a green/yellow combination. maybe pantone can straiten this mess out. Spoilers! BBTV
This photo's probably not the most helpful, but it's a cool shot:In that photo, it looks like the Warriors are wearing blue and yellow trim. I had always thought they were blue and red, with the yellow only being added close to their last few seasons in Phila. I wonder if it's just the bad coloring. spyboy1
Does that look more accurate?I think it was just a color shift from old age. HisAirness24
I can assure you the Lakers never wore green. A couple of proof picsThis is not a colored photo and is obviously the most recent I could find of Mikan in a Lakers uni. This wordmark is IDENTICAL to the one in that photo on wikipedia...In the history of the Lakers (MPLS and LA), there was never any green associated with their logos/uniforms. The shading obviously can throw you off in some of the pictures you guys showed, but it was always light blue. 16 NBA Titles1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1972, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010

TruColor
I'm just gonna say this one more time...Don't ever rely on old faded photographs as definitive proof of a particular color.I've got a number of references who have told me that old NBA guides have the Lakers' colors listed as "Powder Blue and Yellow" back in that era, and the Pantone colors (swatch images) that I have on my site use the Pantones that the NBA has deemed as "official" for the era.[/out]
