Thanks for posting.  I agree with the comments so far.  Not ostentatious at all, yet it is a classy, beautiful ring!

Looking forward to seeing the Mets new rings next!

I swear i saw on twitter last week what looked like a NY Mets Ring and it could have been the new NL Champs Ring.  The ring had a very large Mets NY logo in gold on top of a rectangle blue stone and on the outside edge surrounded by diamonds. The reason why I dont know if it was the real ring that was leaked is that this ring has no writting on top of the ring so its not the typical championship ring and i could not see the sides. I have not been able to find that same photo that I saw last week its almost like it was pulled.  I didnt know the team and players didnt have them yet so it will be interesting to see if the actual rings match that photo of the ring I saw last week.

Thanks for trying to find pictures!

Speaking of twitter, have they changed their search software.  I used to search for pictures for championship rings and would get dozens and dozens of results.  For the last week or so I only get a handful of pictures.  Am I doing something wrong or did they change/modify their search functions?

That's a nice ring. I really like the two-tone gold. It goes with everything. Lots of symbolism per the Jostens graphic.

Classy.

Brandon,

thank you so much for sharing the symbolism of the ring. It's always neat to see what was important to the team that designed a particular championship ring. This is exactly the awesome kind of contributions that this forum is all about.

Well done, sir!

Here is another couple of views of the new Mets ring and some additional information:

The new Mets championship ring features 110 diamonds and 42 sapphires.  The blue sapphires are used to showcase the Mets logo.

Two interesting features of the new championship rings:  The blue sapphires seem too light in my opinion and are not a solid color match for the Mets official colors.

Second, I don't recall having seen other championship rings play tribute to the previous successful seasons the team has had with engravings on the inside of the championship ring.  You can see below, Jostens did this with the Mets ring.

Last, while you can't buy a player-sized Mets championship ring for yourself, you can purchase a substantially less-blinged, non gold, non diamond championship ring directly from Jostens.  A Mets championship ring will cost $349.

I think the two rings go nicely together as a matching set for the W.S. victors (gold) and their W.S. opponents (silver) that year.  Not sure if that's how it always is but you have the Mets ring which is sufficiently nice and blingy unto itself and then the Royals ring adds some layers with the two-tone gold and the custom cut sapphires which IMO is a cleaner look in the logo.  I assume that is an upcharge to do because you have to cut larger stones?

I agree. I like that the Mets ring is a bit subdued. It fits really well for a team that won the pennant, yet didn't win the World Series.

What does 2005 and 2006 have to do with Kobe?

Between the dates on each side is a jersey with his number for those years.

Anyone want to discuss the design of the 1999 Super Bowl and runner up AFC championship rings?

Although no longer one of the largest Super Bow rings ever made, few rings can match the pizzazz and bling of the Rams ring.  One of the first mega-blinged championship rings to emerge.

Both rings shown above were made by Jostens and share some similar designs (the rams ring is 10K, while the Titans ring is 14K)

Here is a link to a rather funny story of how a Championship Ring was produced that had a misspelled name of the league.  I guess it happens.  Maybe the should proofread the designs before they make the actual ring.    But again no on caught the mistake on the first Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl ring for over 20 years and the mistake was never corrected.
