IanPhoenix Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I have the NFL and MLB logos done, too, which I will post soon. If you want an NBA, MLS, College, or any other logo done like this, let me know. If you want a different logo for a team I've already done, let me know too. Here's the NHL:Atlantic Division
elliott Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I don't think these are particularly great for sigs, actually. Some of these are almost impossible to tell which team it is if you didn't know what division you are in. Especially New Jersey, Montreal, and Toronto. Edit: and Colorado. I think you either need to show more of the logo or find a better way of doing this. Dribbble ... Behance

I've redone the Atlantic so far. How do they look?{Bigger images removed}Edit: Still working on this some. Going to revert them to the original size, but using a similar theory from this set here.
Shane Does Art Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I don't really know about this, it can work for some logos, but a lot of them are just too hard to tell. I'd rather have the entire logo in my sig anyway. Hi, how are you?
oo_nrb Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Some of these work great. Preds and Wings look awesome. But some are just impossible to tell. Even after you made them bigger, I still can't tell that that's the Devils. Maybe if you chose a different area of some of these logos? For example, with the Devils, there are very unique parts of the logo that you can show (the tail or the horns, for example). Also, why are you using secondaries for some of these? The Avalanche "A" is infinitely more recognizable than that damned foot (though that may just be my anti-foot bias).Anyway, just do a bit of tweaking and I think it'll work out alright. 2011 Colorado Rockies | Season from Hell
IanPhoenix Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 I don't really know why I chose secondary logos for a lot of them, but some teams, like the Rangers, Flyers, Sabres, Panthers, or Predators, for example, I think the secondary is a better logo than the primary. But some people like the primaries better. It's all a matter of taste. For the Devils, I've been trying to get the tail into it as much as possible but now I think I might have gotten it the best. Anyway, here's the updated Atlantic Division logos.
IanPhoenix Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Here's the updated Northeast Division.I kept the secondary for the Bruins because although the spoked B is classic, it just doesn't work too well with these, and the bear logo is still a classic and works well here. For the Sabres, I used the dreaded "Buffaslug" because, even though this is a case where the secondary is a better logo, I don't have a very good version of the modernized logo with the gray outlines. The one I used before was kinda dark and looked to be from a picture, not a graphic. The Canadiens' logo is much clearer, and there's much more red visible. For the Senators, it's the same area, but more of the face can be seen. For the Leafs, the 11-point leaf isn't too recognizable with these, so the 36-point leaf is better. I panned it down some so the name "TORONTO" comes into view.
patsox Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I'm going to dissent and say they look nice job. I like these and think they are a great idea for sigs.
IanPhoenix Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Well, since I'm starting to get positive feedback (thanks, guys), here's my updated work on the Southeast:Thrashers: Went to the main logo. It looks better, and is more recognizable than the T-shaped overhead view.Hurricanes: Kept the secondary because it's a better logo, though the primary wouldn't look bad either.Panthers: Secondary logo looks better with the broken hockey stick, and it should be the primary.Lightning: The secondary logo is almost the same as the primary, but the Florida map in the background looks better here.Capitals: The primary logo would look okay here, but the eagle logo is much more popular and looks better.

oo_nrb Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Updates look much better! The only ones that are still a bit iffy are the Bruins and the Lightning, but I was able to ID the rest of the new ones. Good job .I didn't mean to sound so negative, cause it's a great idea; I just wanted to help make the teams recognizable, so that people will use them. 2011 Colorado Rockies | Season from Hell
IanPhoenix Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Here's the AL Central. Hope these are good. The MLB was very tough.
