Waleslax
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am looking for information on the history of the Coyotes financial troubles. I am also looking for information on the decision to put the team in Phoenix to begin with. I figured this would be the place to get pointed in the right direction.Thank you! DEAD!
The Coyotes are not in financial trouble, all that you've been hearing are rumours perpetuated by the media and one businessman that I will remain nameless. Please carry on.... I saw, I came, I left.

Waleslax
Ha, ha, I know the deal with the Coyotes, the problem I am having is that I can't find a good timeline of their financial woes or much to do with numbers. I am writing a behavioral finance paper, and it is interesting to see the heuristics and biases that Gary Bettman had when the team was moved. What is most amazing is a) how wrong he was and how the financial problems in the US/with the Coyotes today mirror so closely the problems with Canada/ the Winnipeg market in 1995/6.Any serious information would go a long way towards helping me. Thanks guys!Rob

NEW.ERA
To go along with the Jets moved to Phoenix the backing to the Economics being that the Old Barn Winnipeg Arena couldn't generate revenue and that there was no suitable facility to take the Jets thus one of the key reasons the move to the desert. The source is an old article from the Calgary Herald but no internet source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potential_Nat...ion_into_CanadaScroll down to number 26 in the sources part.Although interest for getting an NHL franchise back to Winnipeg is unlimited but mostly from a fan's and media's perspective no possible owner has shown any interest in returning a team to Winnipeg.
