The league has announced that team names and uniforms will be unveiled in August, with logos set to be introduced in September.

And the folding notice in November.

So far there are markets in Hartford, Orlando, Sacramento, Las Vegas, New York, LA, and San Francisco. Possibly in Salt Lake City or Monterrey in 2010.

Everything I've read says that Vegas, San Fran, Orlando, and NYC are all in for 09. I think Vegas and NYC will play "home" games in Hartford and LA as well, with Hartford and LA in the plans for 2010.

They actually only have 4 teams that will play in 7 cities...go figure. Orlando, New York, San Francisco, and Las Vegas are the only cities that actually have teams, but games will be played in Hartford, LA, and Sacramento I think. All the coaches are former NFL coaches though.

this is a long shot of a question, but does anyone know what companies are/might be working on the logos and unis? im hoping it not the Dalton Agency (jacksonville jaguars designers) doing Orlando

Heck, their "draft" was private, so why would they name design firms related to them?

I wonder if this will actually take off. I know I shouldn't compare it to the XFL, but that certainly didn't last long...

At this point, to compare this to the XFL is actually doing a disservice to the XFL, a concept previously believed impossible.

Landor Associates created the UFL's league logo, so I've been working under the assumption that they'll also be handling the team branding.

Gamewear Team Sports provided the compression shirts that players wore at the UFL's Orlando and Las Vegas workout sessions last month. Whether that's a sign that they will also be providing the UFL's franchises with their uniforms, I don't know.

Well while it is easy to say this league will fail. If they do not try to compete with the NFL, and provide a place for post or no collage players to play. It could just work. The NFL needs a development league since the demise of NFLE and this could be a great place to taxi players to and from. The league will need to be realistic in its expectations, don't charge $50 a ticket, charge $20 tops with reduced for kids. Don't think TV money will come flowing in. Focus on putting the best product on the field. And expect to lose money. I think they have made one mistake so far and that is putting teams in SF and NY. The north east team should be in WB Scranton or Albany, and the Cali team should be in Sacramento. Do they really think that anyone in NYC or the Bay area will even notice? Orlando and LV are ok, but Santa Fe, El Paso or Savannah, Mobile would be better.

They're playing in the fall. They already blew that one.

It's always sad when players don't have a collage. It always brings a tear to my eye. ^_^

Out here in Seattle area John Clayton of ESPN has a local show as he lives out here. A couple of weeks ago while talking about Rex Grossman or some other qb he said something to the effect that it would be in his best interest to play in the UFL and get some games. It was said matter of factly like there was no doubt that the league would be playing in the upcoming season. Regardless of anyones thoughts of ESPN, John Clayton is pretty darn good and knowledgeable. I think the league will probably have a go.
