I do not see it just yet. If this helps any, I consider an actual home for a team to be, say, a year, rather than the off game. For instance, I'd say Memorial Stadium was a home for the Bears, but Ryan Field in Evanston was not.

Looks like no fully correct answers. Time to walk through it.

STEP 1

Isolate what answers can fit in what spots.

  1. Currently in their 18th Premiership season {Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur}
  2. Never won FA Cup, League Cup, League Trophy {Fulham, Hull City}
  3. Have been to multiple Cup Winners' Cup Finals {Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham United}
  4. Compete in the Merseyside Derby {Everton, Liverpool}
  5. Once managed by Bobby Campbell {Chelsea, Fulham, Portsmouth}
  6. Based in Greater Manchester {Bolton Wanderers, Manchester City, Manchester United, Wigan Athletic}
  7. Founded in 20th century {Chelsea, Hull City, Wigan Athletic}
  8. Appeared in first color soccer television transmission in the UK {Liverpool, West Ham United}
  9. Stadium hosted London Monarchs {Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur}
  10. Have won championship of top four English divisions {Burnley, Wolverhampton Wanderers}
  11. Have scored 1,000 goals in the Premiership {Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United}
  12. Uniforms furnished by le coq sportif {Everton, Stoke City, Wolverhampton Wanderers}
  13. Current stadium seats at least 40,000 {Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Sunderland}
  14. Currently have a Scottish manager {Birmingham City, Everton, Manchester United}
  15. Have won FA Cup, League Cup, League Trophy {Wolverhampton Wanderers}
  16. Have won the UEFA Cup {Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur}
  17. Currently wear red-and-white striped primary shirts {Stoke City, Sunderland}
  18. Featured Robbie Fowler as a player {Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, Manchester City}
  19. Has permanent possession of a UEFA trophy {Liverpool}
  20. Founding member of The Football League {Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Everton, Stoke City, Wolverhampton Wanderers}

STEP 2

Portsmouth is an answer to Statement 5 only, thus it must go there.

Birmingham City is an answer to Statement 14 only, thus it must go there.

Wolverhampton Wanderers is the only answer to Statement 15, thus it must go there.

Liverpool is the only answer to Statement 19, thus it must go there.

After Tottenham Hotspur (3) was eliminated from Statement 9, only Chelsea was left, thus it must go there.

After Wolverhampton Wanderers (2) and Everton (3) were eliminated from Statement 12, only Stoke City was left, thus it must go there.

STEP 5

After West Ham United (3) and Chelsea (4) were eliminated from Statement 3, only Arsenal was left, thus it must go there.

After Wigan Athletic (4) was eliminated from Statement 7, its only remaining place was Statement 6, thus it must go there.

After Stoke City (4) was eliminated from Statement 17, only Sunderland was left, thus it must go there.

STEP 6

After Liverpool (2), Chelsea (4), and Arsenal (5) were eliminated from Statement 11, only Manchester United was left, thus it must go there.

After Bolton Wanderers (5) was eliminated from Statement 6, its only remaining place was Statement 20, thus it must go there.

STEP 7

After Liverpool (2), Everton (3), Tottenham Hotspur (3), Chelsea (4), Arsenal (5), and Manchester United (6) were eliminated from Statement 1, only Aston Villa was left, thus it must go there.

After Blackburn Rovers (6) were eliminated from Statement 20, its only remaining place was Statement 18, thus it must go there.

STEP 8

After Liverpool (2), Everton (3), Chelsea (4), Arsenal (5), Sunderland (5), Manchester United (6), and Aston Villa (7) were eliminated from Statement 13, only Manchester City was left, thus it must go there.

Okay, I think it's time for another one of these. Your answers this time are the 16 teams in the American Football Conference.

  1. Played home games in Texas
  2. Featured Bruce Coslet as head coach
  3. Home stadium has retractable roof
  4. Drafted a QB in first round of '83 draft
  5. At least one Andre Rison TD reception
  6. Played home games in L.A. Coliseum
  7. Played regular season game in Canada
  8. Won every game in a season (including playoffs)
  9. Won at least two Super Bowls
  10. Featured John Madden as head coach
  11. Have worn orange jerseys
  12. Share stadium with FBS team
  13. Play on artificial turf at home
  14. Won NFL title pre-merger
  15. Victimized by Phil Luckett on Thanksgiving
  16. Played in the Heidi Game

Now, each clue might apply to more than one team, but there's only one way to fit them all in. Only one guess per person, please. Setting the deadline 96 hours from now, good luck!
