I've been waiting to see you do that!) and the slash marks on the jerseys and the caps (it's the kind of thing a minor league team could get away with, and it would be flashy and unique). If I absolutely had to pick something to quibble with, I'd say maybe tighten up the bones on the cap logo to make it a clearer "R", and maybe refine the bone-bat so that it looks a tiny bit more like a bat and less like a bone. Tighten the bones up a bit and it would be easier to read. Maybe get rid of the baseball in the middle too.I love the detail you put into your concepts, even going as far as to break the wordmark where the front of the jersey opens, and make it just a little bit askew to give it a realistic effect. It sorta looks like they're fossils unearthed that way, and they happen to form an R. love it. excellent work.my only concern is the blood dripping off the bone/bat. minor league identities usually have a lighter "tone", sort of geared towards families and children, so that might be a little disconcerting. I know as a nipper there was nothing I liked more than Dinosaurs and the related goriness! It's done in such a way as to not appear overtly violent so I dont it's a real concern.I love the whole concept, expertly done, well thought out, and I had wondered if the R was supposed to look skull like with the placement of the "base-eye-ball". The caps are fantastic I'd buy one today if I could and I dont know the first thing about baseball! But they look that good I'd love to have one in my cap collection.My only criticism, in fact that way to harsh, my only comment is that the script suits Ogden more than it does Raptors. AAO Posted July 6, 2009 Share Posted July 6, 2009 You've outdone yourself again. Looks incredible. The Raptor is very nicely rendered, nice touch with the blood dripping from the bone. The secondary is great too. One thing you could definitely use is a script for Raptors and a script for Ogden--custom scripts. It's such a nice concept otherwise that just any typeface for the wordmarks doesn't do it justice. One thing is right, the MiLB probably wouldn't go for the blood drip, but that is a very minimal part of the concept. Why not work it into a Toronto Raptors concept? Just an idea. The raptor is rendered expertly and the secondary with the bones being both an 'R' and a dinosaur head is a stroke of genius. I agree with the guy who said they look like they were dug up that way. The color scheme is also exactly what they should use.I agree that maybe using a different font for the wordmark could be a good idea. I also agree that the blood dripping off the bat may be a little...riske? for minor league baseball.This is about a million times better than the boring look they have now. Excellent job. Maybe move the bones in just a little bit closer, but it's okay as is. oddball Posted July 7, 2009 Share Posted July 7, 2009 The only thing I'll point out and I confirmed it, that the colors, might need to change. Why? Because you have Arizona Diamondback colors on a Dodger affiliate. I don't mind the colors and if they were an affiliate with the Diamondbacks, it'd work. I think why it's not working is that you are using a dull rust color with the tan and your tones are similar, and throw on top of that your black isn't a true black. It's a great concept. Have you tried to make an "r" with the middle claw? You could do that with a hint of red on the tip and maybe you could invert the tan and the red on the raptor and get another version of a strong concept. The bone could be made a little bigger at the end not held by the raptor, and, yes, the blood on the bone needs to go. Outside of that, really creative and different.
