None of this Rose Bowl stuff matters any more. FOX has a freaking Tebow-cam. You can go to FOX's website and watch Tebow-Cam. My girlfriend had a great line about it. She said "well at least we know we'll get a good shot of him ascending into heaven after the game."

A :censored:-ing Tebow-cam. You've got to be kidding me.

Actually I'm not even surprised anymore about the networks drooling over Superman Tebow

So I just clicked on the link to see how they were gonna do this, and the Tebow cam is a good 30 seconds to a minute ahead of the actual TV broadcast. So I guess Tebow is not only the second-coming of Christ, but he as well can bend time.

I hope I'm wrong but Cincinnati has no chance of winning this game. They look like little kids trying to play with the big boys.

So do I, i'm hoping for 3 teams with an undefeated record so I can hear the hype of a playoff once again

I think you're going to have to settle for two.

Now, if you excuse me... I want to go sit in that corner with the dunce cap on for thinking Oregon could win.

Wear it well and wear it proud, my friend. I, for one, am always happy to see Oregon lose.

I don't think Cincinnati had much of a chance to begin with.

Couple that with Cincy's coach heading to South Bend (and ticking off the Bearcat players), this being Tebow's last game, and now possibly Meyer's last game for a while....the Bearcats just don't have a prayer.

It says something about Ohio State that it's been 13 years since the Buckeyes won the Rose Bowl. If Tressel was any good, they would have won it sooner.
Well Will, we were a little busy playing for National Championships.
Figured you'd make a homer comment like that.

How is that a homer comment when it is a GD fact that national championship games in 02, 06, and 07 kept them from playing in the Rose Bowl? YOU=jackass. You're using the old bowl system to define a BCS era coach's success. That makes NO SENSE because were we still using the old system, this would've been the 4th Rose Bowl for Jim Tressell.

If Tressell were any good? That's a laugh. Is there a way to ban posters from certain threads? I'll take Jim Tressell's BCS bowl appearances, BCS bowl record, conference championships, and national championship ahead of a lot of coaches. If you don't want him Will, you don't have to have him. But, you have no idea what you're talking about and may be clinically insane.

that willmorris/Infrared exchange just now was funnier than like the last six years of The Simpsons, though

Sorry to rain on the parade but that wasn't me dude. McCarthy gets credit for that one. My last interaction with Will was about 4 pages ago. And that was just to tell him I wasn't going to waste my time arguing with him.

Oh I was referring to

"Well Will, we were a little busy playing for National Championships."

"Figured you'd make a homer comment like that."

The McCarthy stuff was boilerplate sports talk till "you might be clinically insane."

Neither did I to be honest but you still never know these days. That said, I think if the coaching situations had never happened the end result would have been about the same. Cincy was no match for Florida under the best of circumstances. Love them or hate them, there's no denying that Florida is pretty darn good.

Cincy still had a really great season. 5 years ago if someone had said 12-0 Cincinnati would be playing in The Sugar Bowl and but for one second on the clock would have been playing for the National Championship we would have thought they were...well... WillMorris.

Well, we were. I guess pointing out a simple fact makes one a homer in Will's world.

Now that the New Year's Day games are in the books (and the bowing down to the false god that is Tebow is over with), we have more games today.

A few storylines to keep an eye on...

-In San Antonio, it seems that controversy is the theme for the Alamo Bowl. Everyone knows what went down with Mike Leach at Texas Tech, but what is forgotten is the whole mess that Michigan State dealt with back in November that meant 14 players got supsended for the bowl game. Losing your coach can be big, but losing a ton of players is worst.

-Up the road in Arlington, the Cotton Bowl will be played in the Cowboys' new Mega Palace of Football Glory. In said stadium are two teams that are pretty good. Oklahoma State came close to getting an at-large BCS bid and Ole Miss, despite it's good season, just couldn't live up to the preseason hype

-In Birmingham, UConn has a chance to finish on high note if they can beat the Ol' Ball Coach and his South Carolina team. If anything, UConn has a chance to help the Big East regain some face after yesterday's 0-2 showing and what has been a subpar bowl season for the conference.

I'm having a hard time figuring out who's more insufferable. Fans of good Big Ten teams, or fans of bad Big Ten teams. I guess that means they all suck. :P

That does not include me. I am a fan of a mediocre Big Ten team.

Last night's Florida/Cincy game reminded me that this has been a great bowl season. That incredible blowout stands alone (through 1/1) as the only very boring game thus far. There've been a lot of great games: Auburn/Northwestern, Idaho/BG, etc. And most of the rest have been close. The games don't mean much, but they're fun. Good bowl season thus far. A good National Championship game would make this a memorable year.

As for the Big Ten...much better showing, beating the U, LSU and Oregon. (And close in their two losses). Respectable...it's been a while.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

It has been a while. I just hope it's the result of an improved Big Ten and not the result of the other conferences having down seasons. (cue all the Big Ten bashers)

If nothing else, at least Big Ten fans can hold their heads a little higher this year. None of the Big Ten teams were humiliated. So far at least. It's all on Michigan State and Iowa now.
