Me drinking the Kool-Aid? And you call yourself a Notre Dame fan...

Look at the stats at the half.

Passing yards

Nevada: 79

Notre Dame: 212

Rushing yards

Nevada: 83

Notre Dame: 88

Total Yards

Nevada: 162

Notre Dame: 300

Kapernick is only 6-12 for 79 yards and a pick. I hardly call being at a 50% completion rate 'picking apart the defense' If anything, Notre Dame has done well enough on defense to stifle the Pistol and let Jimmy Clausen tear apart their weak Secondary.

Gabbert is looking calm and cool in the pocket but still a whole half for Juice to turn loose.

I just turned the game on. Would I be correct in assuming that Illinois decided to stay in last year's "Mr. Hyde mode?"

Will, not everyone can be Boise State

"Mr. Hyde mode" it is.

Awesome.

Well, I was at the Tech-JSU game (my first game as a student!!), and while it was nothing AMAZING, it was tons of fun. Now, I'm sitting back, relaxing, and watching the OK State game.

Tate Forcier has been awfully impressive in his first start for Michigan! And Denard Robinson's touchdown run was hella impressive!

"May the Forcier be with you!"

BOO! BOO! That joke sucked... badly. Like Illinois bad or Temple bad or Nevada bad.

I said it before and I'll say it again: That joke sucked. It sucked the first time it was used, and it still sucks.

The Irish need to play better than that. Their national championship hopes dashed, they now probably need to win out to reach the Gator Bowl.

While I really do appreciate your insanity Will, the facts are that if Notre Dame can manage even an 11-1 season they are going to be in the BCS hunt at worst. If there is only one undefeated team at the end of the season the one loss Irish will play for the title. If there are 3 or 4 one loss teams and Notre Dame is one of them guess who's going to the title game? If Notre Dame has two losses along with a bunch of other two loss teams (ala LSU in 2007) guess who's going to get the bid to play against the number one team. So you can keep sending the Irish to the Gator Bowl if you'd like but you know as well as I do that it's going to take at the very least four losses to put them there.

After three years of harping on this I know I sound like a broken record but...Ratings and drawing power play as big a role in the BCS selection process (probably bigger actually) than does a team's record. I'm not saying it's right. I'm just saying that's the way it is. And Will is fully aware of that. He just likes :censored:-ing with us.

Bad joke aside, your boys looked much improved today Gary. Wish I could say the same for my guys.

Granted, it's only Western Kentucky, but Tennessee's offense looks a lot better than it did last year.

It's a tune up game, but dropping nearly 700 total yards on anyone is impressive. I for one am VERY happy to see the Vols looking this good. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

I would love seeing 11-1 USC v 11-1 Michigan in the NCG. Notre Dame would fit perfectly in the Gator Bowl at 12-0 if that happens. Let's face it, Notre Dame can't be one of the best teams in the nation if they don't win their conference - very important thing.

Yet you keep forgetting that Notre Dame isn't in a conference, Will. Many teams back in the day were Independents before finding a conference to call home.

Just because Notre Dame doesn't have a football conference to call home doesn't mean they cannot compete for a possible National Championship.
