BlueSky
Well, someone obviously forgot to tell the Cowboys how good the Saints are. Obviously I was disappointed by the outcome, but in the big picture it may have been good for the Saints to get punched in the mouth so as to redirect their attention from their press clippings to playing football. I also hope it helps them break a very bad habit, that of coming out flat and then turning it on to catch up and win. Their motto this year is 'Finish' but I might suggest that they work on 'Begin' for a week or two. It also takes all the 'undefeated' focus away too. Forget that crap and think about football. So if they win out and earn home-field advantage, this loss might be the best thing that could have happened to them and even if not, they're in the hunt and among the best teams in football when they're actually playing (mid-3rd quarter on last night for example). Let's not forget that this wasn't the Rams they lost to, the Clownboys are a pretty good team who had a lot on the line last night. Also, undefeated late in the season is old hat to the Colts but this is uncharted territory for the Saints and they need to learn how to handle success. There were some bright spots too, for example the return of CB Tracy Porter & LB Scott Fujita, who both played well. If they get their other starting CB, Jabari Greer, and DT Sedrick Ellis (excellent run-stopper) back as expected for Week 17 or the playoffs, they'll be okay on defense. rams80
Anyone remember NFL bust Lawrence Phillips?...Ex-NFL RB Phillips gets 31 years in the slamPhillips twice choked his girlfriend in 2005 in San Diego. Later that year, he aimed his car and struck three teens after a pickup football game in Los Angeles.Sad.He should've faced additional charges for missing the block that ended Steve Young's career. He needed to do something good for the Rams. Good for them, now on to the washed up Deadskins and the philthy Beagles. you beat the saints which is a start in the right direction, now do the same to the aforementioned team and i'll be happy. rams80
Oh...and with today's loss, the Rams did make NFL "history".They became the first franchise since the adoption of the 16 game schedule to go 3 straight seasons without winning at least 4 games.Gentlemen, this is quite an accomplishment, and something that I hope you are proud of. LEWJ
Man oh man, Jerome Harrison was exciting today.3rd best rushing performance in NFL history [in terms of yardage], and a Cleveland Browns record. And Josh Cribbs is a Kick Return legend. Most kickoff returns for a TD in NFL history [8].Not too shabby if you ask me. Oh, and the best part is that the Browns actually got a W. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
