Another day, another NLL team leaving town

Ehh, not surprising really to hear. The Titans and the New Jersey and Long Island MLL teams really don't do that well here, and it's such a lacrosse hotbed too. But that's probably where the problem comes from, with all the high school field lacrosse programs and then the huge number of college teams around here, it pretty much dilutes the market, plus field lacrosse is much more popular than box in the area

Well, at least the Orlando Titans (assuming they keep their current identity) should endear themselves to all the University of Florida alums in the area with their color scheme. Other Florida-based Division I schools, not so much.

Somebody cue up "When You Wish Upon A Star"...

"Hey, New York Titans, you just lost the 2009 NLL Champion's Cup final! What are you gonna do next?"

(Hint: This move now means there are two cities with teams called the Predators and Titans.)

You mean NEW JERSEY Titans!!!

Ummm...they also played in Madison Square Garden...so....FAIL.

Does anybody know the attendance figures for that "Florida Cup" game the Rock played against the Titans?

GTA United(USA) 2015 + 2016 USA Champions/Toronto Maroons (ULL)2014, 2015 + 2022 Gait Cup Champions/Toronto Northmen (TNFF)

It was 5,733, which is actually pretty impressive considering that it took place right around the same time as the Orange Bowl, the BCS title game and a Dolphins home playoff game.

Maybe the Wings are the next to move? They've never been good, nor supported well.

Well, if the NLL Insider forums are any indication there does seem to be a fan revolt brewing in Philly, over their ticket price restructuring for 2010. (Apparently they're closing the upper deck of Wachovia Center and jacking up ticket prices in most of the lower bowl.)

Um, Will?

The Wings have won the most championships in league history, they're the only team to be around in their original form for all twenty-three seasons of EPBLL/MILL/NLL play, they're continuously at or near the top of the attendance figures, and they're probably the best drawing of all of the "minor" clubs in the area.

Unless the fans stay away in droves this year, I can't see the Wings going anywhere.

Not to nitpick, but isn't Nashville still technically the only city using the names Predators and Titans since the Orlando Predators are defunct (unless they plan on playing in AF2 next season).

The AFL, and therefore the Predators, hadn't officially gone TU yet at the time of the original post.

Plus there's still rumors that the stronger franchises (a la Orlando, Tampa Bay, Grand Rapids, San Jose, Arizona) might try to form their own league.
