2009 X-Games thread

Ok, I'm gonna be laid up recovering from surgery, which means lotsa tv, movies, and junk. So...

I'm excited for year #15 of Summer X. I want to see a 1080 on a skateboard, motorcycle front-flip, among other things of course.

So I was starting this year's (and possibly first ever; don't feel like looking) X-Games thread. What do you guys want to see? What have you seen that blew your mind?

I want to see Pastrana backflip his rally car!

Hopefully Scott Murray can finally land the double-backflip he has been trying for years to land at X.

I think drifting needs to be added to the X-Games, with the influx of motorized sports, drifting is sort of the epitome of extreme driving. Guys like Rhys Millen and Tanner Foust would tear the X-Games up! I'm sure Pastrana would try and get in on that action too.

Hopefully Scott Murray can finally land the double-backflip he has been trying for years to land at X.

It's actually Stephen Murray, and that would be great, but he tried that and didn't make it all the way around at a comp in '07. He's paralyzed now.

1080 might be a stretch but somebody comes along and duplicates Hawk's 900 would be interesting.

I've been to the X games several times in Los Angeles and usually start a thread about it here. Not too sure I can go this year, but I hope so.

Craziest/best X games moments in my mind:

Colin McRae (RIP) JUST losing out to Travis Pastrana in the Rally X finals despite rolling on the final turn (06, I think)

Burnquest's win over Lasek in 01

Lasek's win the previous year

Hawk's 900

Surfing in Huntington Beach

Jake Brown basically falling from three stories up in 07

Danny falling nearly as hard the following year

Chuck Carothers' Bodyvarial to win Moto X best trick

Bummed I didn't get to go to the US Open of Surfing again this summer

Bucky Lasek will be one to watch in Big Air at this years X Games, he's back to having fun as he said and if his performance on the Dew Tour stop yesterday in Boston could be a glimpse of what he could do at the X Games.
