This won't even get past the USOC level...

As a city Tulsa ia about three tiers below what is required to host an event like this. http://www.lboro.ac.uk/gawc/world2008t.html

In the last generation, There's two Beta/Beta- cities that have hosted summer games... Munich and Montreal, and those were '72/76... since then it's been Moscow (A), LA (B+), Seoul (A), Barcelona (B+), Atlanta (B+), Athens (A-), Sydney (A+), Beijing (A+), and London (A++)... notice the trend?

Methinks this is probably just a dream to get some publicity for the city... here's the a brief feasibility study for the bid... http://www.tulsaworld.com/tulsa2020

And Darien, IL has a Facebook group created by my friend with all the venues planned to host the 2020 Olympics. Tulsa has the same chance as we do.

What's the worst that happens...the bid gets rejected or voted down?

It's not like all the events have to be held within an hour's drive of Tulsa....the Atlanta Games had events taking place as far away as Washington DC and Miami.

Hell, once I turn 35, I plan to run for US President. I likely won't win, but I still ran for office.....

I don't know where to start with this...but this has epic FAIL! written all over it.

The CCSLC's resident Geelong Cats fan.

Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. Sounds like something from a Rocky & Bullwinkle story arc.

I'm all for the Olympics in Tulsa. Why not? Why should all the ultra-modern metropolises host the Olympics? If not Tulsa, then Beaver, Utah. *sarcasm ended* Actually, I could see this as a great comedy movie about the attempt and securing of Tulsa for the Olympics.

I'm pretty sure Will Ferrel would have to be in it.

Please. Not another SNL crappy movie. I was thinking of something like Waiting for Silverman, or Dog Show, something that is good. Will Ferrel has been in one good movie, Stranger Than Fiction, all the rest of his movies are stupid SNL crap.

WHAT?!?!?! Stranger Than Fiction was his WORST movie, he shouldve never taken that role. Will Ferrell is funny and funny only, all his other movies are freakin' amazing. You can't tell me you don't like Anchorman, c'mon :)

Anyways back to the topic, I can't see this happening honestly. As much as I'd love to see it (i'm all for an underdog story), I just don't think it could. The summer olympics are just too big of an event, obviously we see major cities such as Beijing, Sydney, and London host olympics, and knowing that obviously I don't think the big Olympics Commitees would consider Tulsa. In other words, there are many other larger, more profitable locations that would be considered over Tulsa.

The opinions I express are mine, and mine only. If I am to express them, it is not to say you or anyone else is wrong, and certainly not to say that I am right.
