Old School Fool
https://www.mavgear.com/detail.aspx?ID=2566Oh god, if we learned anything from the past, it's that this can't be good...

chakfu
I'm one of the only people who really liked the old ones; hope these are still green, that really added some continuity to the old colors and history of the team. Blue/green seem like the real mavericks colors.
Conrad.
i agreee chakfu....but from the looks of it, they dont seem to enjoy green too much anymore, which is a damn shame. Red Goat Creations :: Graphic Design Solutions
eRay
"Our new alternate color" reeks of Black. All signs point to another Green jersey or a lighter Blue one, but "new alternate color" suggests something different then we have seen before.Edit: Pink??? Breast cancer awareness? ShaftDu
that alt isn't any good! Looks like something that the Riddler would be wearing!!
DallasSports
If they would just switch to green full-time, they'd look great. Their (old) alts are their only jerseys I like. This doesn't sound good.
Braden
In the Colour/Size drop-down menu it says "ROYA - "Looks like Royal Blue guys.

The_Admiral
The Mavericks don't really have a definitive color scheme. They were the first of the New 2Blue Wave, but they've tried to backpedal into the old royal/green stuff that was so scarred by incompetence that they needed the double-blue in the first place. I feel like the Mavs need to be progressive in their design. They're a fairly young organization in a non-traditional NBA market, owned by Mark Cuban. You can't just retreat to the warm embrace of the crap Jamal Mashburn lost in. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Arts11
Throw me into the camp that wants to see some more green in the new jersey. For the most part, I like their current green alts (except for the "Mavs" wordmark), but I think some green trim on another color wouldn't be bad. Practically the same as the solid years the Grizzlies had with Gasol and Hubie Brown, before one injury plagued off year convinced them he was worth trading to the Lakers for nothing...Ironically the '89 Mavericks traded away their best player away as well - but who knew that Adrian Dantley would be so heartbroken and decline so fast. The_Admiral
The current Mavericks logo is kind of a big mess of odd shapes, odd lettering, and odd symbolism: it uses a horse, even though a maverick is a bull (though this would be problematic for self-evident reasons). A wild horse is a mustang, not a maverick. Despite the attempt at something Western, the wordmarks and numbers fall into some vague technocrap style. I don't really like it, but then I look back at a basketball wearing a cowboy hat, which to me is in the Bucco Bruce tier of bad logos that also happen to signify moribund teams. Also, how soon we forget how terrible those wordmarks were: that big swashy lettering was dated by the end of the '70s, to say nothing of 1980. I wish I had a solution to this. I don't suppose they can go full-bore Texan when there are two other teams in the state, and red/white/blue would just chap everyone's ass (including my own, after advocating progressive "maverick" design). ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
ColeJ
the mavs with red wouldn't look right to me at all...any cool colors would work. no warm colors.
The_Admiral
I know their current color scheme is overdone, but by no fault of their own. Black with blues might look good, but then you worry about stepping on the Spurs' toes. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
mmejia
the mavs with red wouldn't look right to me at all...any cool colors would work. no warm colors.Agreed. Especially considering a division rival just a few hours south is about as "red" as it gets.
