Matito, I agree wholeheartedly. The Pelicans look was amazing. It even reflects the colors of the Florida flag, which is nice. Don't know that they would dare wear pinstripes full time, but it is a great overall look. Wish I could get my hands on one of those hats.

Add me to the list of those who loved the Pelicans look. I bought the cap as soon as it went on sale I liked it so much and wore that thing nearly every day untill it got too dirty. They had them on Lids.com for a long time, they might still have some back stock if you look hard enough.

Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that I have found it on two (now three) Japanese sites, but I find the $30+ I pay for a cap here in the States to be too much. There is no way I'm paying $55, along with who-knows-how-much on shipping.

Agreed. 28 of 30 road jerseys are solid gray, it is boring. I think the Rays could pull it off, but there are other teams I think should do it more- Jays powder blue for starters.

What obvious thing am I missing. The Padres don't wear gray. What's the other team?

Colorado has pinstriped grey. Houston doesn't wear grey jerseys unless held at gunpoint. He must mean one of those two.

I'm fine with grey across the board, incidentally. San Diego's pee-pee suits have to go far, far, away.

Probably Colorado, as it said "solid" grey. And I agree with you...It's a baseball tradition I like...white vs. grey. I wish every team wore them more often than not and made the alternates truly alternate.

Except that it's not that much of a tradition; teams have had lots of different types of road uniforms over the past 100+ years. The old Dressed to the Nines website showed off a ton of them.

I LOVE the Padres sand uniforms because at least they're doing something different. The Blue Jays 2004 graphite road uniforms that were nixed at the very last minute were awesome too. Powder blue could definitely still work somewhere, and someone really needs to try slate blue for a road uniform. And I know I'll catch hell for it, but I think there are teams that could pull off an all-navy or all-black road alternate so long as they don't wear it in the summer months.

Oh the White Sox and Giants could definitely pull off all black. I actually wouldn't mind seeing how the White Sox would look in black with white pinstripes. If anyone would try it, it'd be them (although they've been remarkably consistent lately given their history.)

Yes, the Red Sox should do the same. The all-red Stars and Stripes looked very good with both the road and home sets last season. I think the 1975-78 red cap, blue 'B', blue brim would be a perfect road cap.

Giants wore the new orange alts today, yet didn't wear the alt caps. I really wonder what the thought process is on using that orange billed cap. So far it's been worn twice, one home when Lincecum was pitching, once on the road vs LA when Zito was pitching, then the orange alts came out today while Lincecum was pitching too. Smart to show your new look when your best player is out there, but I wish they were more consistent with it. As of now the orange billed cap seems to not fit anywhere and is already becoming more of an afterthought.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing it with the road uniform. It looks pretty darn sharp with that set if you ask me.

I have to be honest...when I first saw the Giants' orange jerseys I thought they would be pretty slick looking. After watching that game yesterday I can now say that they are just gawd-awful. Its weird, because I really love the orange jerseys for the Orioles, but for some reason just can't swallow it for San Fran. I prefer them in all black. *scratches head*

BTW, Lincey in downright NASTY! Made Pujols look foolish on some of his swings. Giants look real good this year.

That being said, I really like that dull shade of orange that the Giants alts appear to be in. It's not bright Flyers orange, more of a muted muddy orange (for lack of a good descriptor.)

I don't think the Giants need that alt cap at all, but I think it looks OK with the road jersey. Wouldn't wear it with the orange - too much orange. That being said, they don't need two caps - nobody does. Embrace your blackness. Be proud of your blackness.
