Crystal Light re-brand.

Just noticed this quick pick-up from the local store...

New on the left, Old to the right.

Thoughts...?

not sure if i like the new logo but i do like the design on the package

It's nothing special, but it's a nice fresh look. It won't likely be a timeless mark, but it'll work for a while.

My only problem is that they've turned their brand into a statement.

I read it as "cry tal light". The s looks more like a flourish of the tail of the y.

The packaging is cleaner and feels "lighter", but the script could be done better. And I don't like the period after the name.

The packaging does look better, however, sitting on the shelves at Wal-mart next to the new "plain" Great Value boxes of On-The-Go drink mixes, it makes it very hard to distinguish between the two.

I almost think it has been too simplified.

I like the packaging but that period has got to go. It causes me to make a connection with another productwhich you guys are probably not that familiar with.

I get it!... make connections... subtle marketing... tee hee...[awkwardness]... how does that relate though?...[more awkward]... oh. I see your point. I should stop now.

(This was my literal train of thought after I figured that out. It's hard to translate without sounding like a creep, and I probably failed. But, oh well, at least I'm a clarifying creep)

Nice package design. But I think the wordmark went from bad to worse.

The old one wasn't really that old.

It was kind of like the "Tampa Bay Rays" of artificially-sweetened drinks though.

although the new packagin is more soothing, the old packaging let s you know exactly what this is without any question...i wouldn't be 100% certain that the new packaging was the "on the go" packets at a glance...
