NFL Style Revo Template

Okay so everyone knows the classic NFL style 3/4 view of the old Riddell VSR4 helmet, well I've been waiting for ages to see if the NFL would release a similar graphic only with the Revolution helmet. So far I havent seen one. I've searched places like vector portal and other sites and there are plenty of great Revo templates there but none that match the same look and feel of that old classic NFL one I feel in love with as a kid.

So with that in mind I sat down yesterday and started to put one together myself. I'm planning on using it with a full uniform template in the end but right now I'm just after a few C&C's so I can make it as good as possible.

Old school original on the left, my new Revolution version on the right, all C&C's welcome.

Thanks

Love the Idea, and everything looks great, but something about the top venting and crease looks odd, like it's perspective is too far back, found this photo for reference:

Try moving the front port hole forward a bit...

But I can understand it's functionality being further back if it was to allow the helmet stripe to be shown...But either way, I'd love to have it, and sure alot of members would too! Let us know if you're willing to provide vector format for use in templates...

very nice. i would also suggest double checking the vents on top. ESPN and NFL network are using the new style helmets more and more on their shows (having them placed around the set) so we may see a graphic like this fairly soon

The crease near the top vents just needs to be a little more rounded, like an arch. Start it from farther back on the helmet and bring it down more in the front. You might also think about making these for the other new helmet styles as well. Lastly, good job. Also, the crown of the Revolution seems to be a little bit higher, so you'll need to raise it a bit (see photo of Packers helmet).

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

Even though I agree with the comments above I am once again envious of how easy you guys make this stuff seem by the quality of the work you do.

Thanks for all the comments guys, will look at tweaking it tomorrow if I get the chance and stick the revised version along with a few coloured mock ups on here for some more c&c's.

And nbryant, dont worry mate, you're not alone in finding it tricky we all struggle, that little beauty took the best part of 12hours to do! It shouldn't have but I managed to screw up the facemask TWICE! I messed up on the inner size and by the time I'd done the offset path for the black outline it looked far too thick and had to get completely redrawn, then the mount at the bottom had me stumped for a while and it took about four different attempts before I was happy enough to show anyone, so I guess what I'm saying is stick at it and if you put in the work you'll get the results you want too. Oh yeah and listen to the folk hear when they give advice they're usually spot on!

Thanks again guys, will update soon.

Know it's been a few weeks, but i'd love to hae this template in vector if possible! Let me know!

It's still not finished yet I'm afraid. It got put on hold during a frantic four day DrawlBrawl entry frenzy as soon as I've made all the tweaks necessary and I'm happy with it I'll get it out there.
