The Race for 0-16.

Oh no I get it. I like hard-nosed defense too, but you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

True.

Really? Nobody's drastically altered their career trajectory after a whopping 6 weeks of experience? My bad then.

Way to early to give up on a guy settling into a first time job with very little help around him.

How can you only give your only offensive star 4 carries in the second half of a close ball game that you have the lead in? If you are an NFL offensive coordinator, you shouldn't have to learn to do better than this. You should just know that your fortunes ride with this guy and that therefore you need to feed him the ball as much as possible.

I'm beginning to think Fisher might be out of the door in Tennessee at the end of the year. And I am not sure that the Titans couldn't do with some fresh ideas. You would have to imagine someone else would be prepared to hire Fisher though!

Absolutely, he'd have a job in 10 minutes.

I'd GLADLY take the guy down in Tampa.

Bear in mind...Raheem got the HC gig basically by default. Got promoted to DC in the offseason, then Gruden got canned. It was already known even then the Bucs wanted to promote from within. Morris was the only natural choice at that point. The season ain't over yet, and I haven't even been able to watch all their games this season, but um...I have yet to see ANY kind of plan or mindset as to what this team is or what he thinks they could be.

(The other thing is this: the idea, even if in shades and even if only a pipe dream, of a 46 defense in Tampa after 10+ years of the Tampa 2 is intriguing as hell to me.)

Yeah Fisher would be a real starter for my demote Morris, hire experienced HC idea. I'd imagine that an offensive specialist would be a more diplomatic move, but Fisher would be a real candidate for Tampa Bay, in fact any franchise, should he get canned for the Titans. Depends on the kind of challenge he wanted, indeed might he want a year off if he did get canned in Tennessee?

Judging from the effort put forth by the Bucs today in London against the Pats, I don't see them going 0-16. Did they get beaten by a far superior team? Yes. But they played their asses off. The effort and heart were both there...they'll get a win sooner or later.

The Rams are a different story.

The problem with the Bucs though, is their schedule is very tough. The Rams are pure garbage, do they give up a defensive TD every week or is it just me.

I assume you mean return TD.

The current tally of TDs on the offense

5 for. 4 allowed.

Yeah that's what I meant, the defense scoring a TD against the offense. How can you win doing that?

I agree with that assessment.

However...the Bucs have a VERY difficult schedule remaining. However, Carolina is also on that remaining schedule, so if they're going to get a win, that'd be the first game I'd look to...simply because of one Jake Delhomme. Other than that...long, long season left ahead.

The Rams are inconsistently bad.

Sometimes they play their tails off and are competitively bad. Other times they appear to be going through the motions and get completely stomped. Sometimes they try and still get stomped.

I think in the end they'll have at least 2 wins on the board, though.

That doesn't mean they aren't the most likely to go 0-16, though. But it's obviously not a common occurrence for a team to go winless.

Probably 2. Maybe 3. Not 4. Bulger will will them to a win or two against Detroit and Arizona. People don't realize how special it was for the Lions to go 0-16.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Agreed, except fat chance that Bulger will be willing the win. Jackson maybe. Leonard Little maybe. Probably not Marc Bulger.

Yeah, I was about to say it myself: Marc Bulger won't be the reason why the Rams win a game this year, if it happens.

Wow @ the fact that the Rams are currently -151 in net points right now. That's a mess.

Bulger does have will. Unfortunately, no will in the world can get Avery, Burton, Carter and co. to hold on to the :censored: ing football when it's thrown to them.
