LMU
How exactly do the Red Sox have the better lineup when the Angels hit .015 better as a team, with 19 more RBIs?
NEW.ERA
I'd love for the Twins to run rickshaw all over the Yankees and they ever well could if the Pitching doesn't show up for the Yankees and if A-Rod puts on a clinic of this how you play bad October Baseball.Yankees over Twins in 4Angels will dominate the Red Sox from start to finish and ride the spirit of Nick Adenhart through to the ALCSAngels over Red Sox in 4Rocktober is back but too bad it won't be around more then two weeks which sucks.Phillies over Rockies in 5Cards will crush Mannywood with strong pitching and Prince Albert and the boys crush the Dodgers pitching staff.Cardinals over Dodgers in 4But What I really think Baseball needs is to have two or more of these series go the distance to make up for an uneventful September. McCall
Cardinals will take at least 1, maybe both in LA. Don't see them dropping 2 in St. Louis. Sweep is possible, but I'll give the Dodgers at least one win in there somewhere. Although opening at home, they're facing probably the top 2 contenders for the NL Cy Young in both those games.Cardinals in 4I think the Rockies will make it interesting. They've been playing great baseball as of late. Phillies have been pretty well set in the East for awhile, so a little complacency might hurt them.Rockies in 5 (This is the toughest pick for me to decide on.)Twins are hot and at the right time. But having to play that extra game just to make it in might have worn them out a bit... or just renewed their drive.Yankees in 5 (This pick kills me to make.)Don't really know this match-up in great detail, but I think the Angels are a little stronger and opening at home is going to help them.Angels in

pcgd
How exactly do the Red Sox have the better lineup when the Angels hit .015 better as a team, with 19 more RBIs?Because RBI's are a horrible indicator of any kind of batting skill. And .015? That's like less than 5 hits difference over the course of a season.I'm not saying the Red Sox are better, but those two stats aren't very telling... Phillies in 4(Really, the LDS needs to be best-of-7. MLB would be smart to look into that.)World Series this year is already going into November. We don't need it going that much farther into the month. This isn't the NHL or NBA where we want everything best-of-7 and the playoffs taking 2 months to complete. That's what's good about the NFL and MLB, the two more popular leagues. Their playoffs are much more exciting and are confined to within one definitive month, October for baseball and January for football. There is the occasional, as this year and the last couple for the Super Bowl, where it's ended at the very beginning of the next month, but we don't need it going any longer past that. A part of me wants the playoffs to be extended or even two more playoff teams per league, but it would water everything down so much. I take pride in knowing that only 8 teams can make the playoffs instead of the t-ball 'everybody is a winner' mentality of the NBA and NHL. That makes the Yankees string of 11 post-season appearances and the Braves 14 division titles even more impressive.

Actually if it were me, I would go to 5 game series in all rounds short of the actual World Series, then go to 7 for the championship. (Might actually make sure that the Fall Classic is played during Fall if that were the case!!)
epper
Yankees over Twins in 3 -- Too much CC and Tex for the Twins to handle.Angels over Red Sox in 5 -- The Angels are gonna run wild on Varitek and V-Mart.Rockies over Phillies in 5 -- No Bullpen = No RepeatCardinals over Dodgers in 4 -- Best 1-2-3 short-series rotation will pay off for Cards.
