Cubs file for chapter 11

The Cubs are worth $845 million today, a whopping $824.5 more from what they were worth in 1981 ($20.5 mil)...WOW!

Something brought to my attention last week:

The Cubs plus Wrigley Field, one of the most adored franchises and stadiums in all of American professional sport, are worth $845 million when packaged together.

The St. Louis Rams, a team with a withering fanbase, no apparent hope for the future, an out-of-date stadium which they don't own, and the reason for rams80's incredulous puppy, are estimated by Forbes to be worth $929 million on their own - $84 million more than the Cubs plus their never-fail tourist-trap ballpark.

Now that either means the Rickettsesses got themselves a hell of a steal from the desperate Sam Zell, or damn, NFL's got some pull. Probably a mix of both.

Yeah, it sure sounds like it! Aren't NFL teams on average worth more than MLB teams anyway?

I'm sure the fact you can move them in short order helps jack up the price.

Does this mean the Cubs are moving to Hamilton?
