Pitt Students and Staff celebrating Bill Mazeroski's 1960 World Series-Winning Homerun from atop the Cathedral of Learning.

That pic is greatness - a classic. I'd never seen it before. It also captures my original intent for the thread - the reaction of onlookers as opposed to the participants themselves. Don't get me wrong, the pics posted are all great and they expanded the thread nicely, I'm just saying my personal faves on the ones with onlookers' reactions, be it fans, coaches, bench players, whoever.

I have to admit, that's a great picture, it puts those rooftop bleachers sections across from Wrigley Field to shame :D

I saw, I came, I left.

:D

As a fan of photography and sports- this is one of my favorite threads all time on CCSLC.

With that I contribute:

(Both from the end of Game 5 of the 1995 ALDS)

They have made that into a cool mural at Safeco Field. I thought it was pretty neat the first time I saw it.

Cool shot, cool idea to make it a mural but...that guy in the middle makes it look like a ballet broke out just as the runner slid home. :D

This classic reaction shot (and a twofer!) was on the Atlanta paper's front Sports page this morning and immediately brought this thread to mind:

Caption says they're reacting to an official's call.

OK, so WTF. They're both pissed/unhappy/amazed at the call? :D

Cool picture.

My fav of all time. Look at all the fans who a) know they're about to get their hearts ripped out, B ) fingers crossed, c) hands on forehead

Don't remind me. It still stings after almost 12 years. The Jazz had, quite possibly, the best team in the NBA that year, but the Bulls had Michael frickin' Jordan. <_<

...and, as some Jazz fans would say, Dick Bavetta. :P
