rams80
Will the big 12 grab Houston like they did tcu from the huge east/America??! It would be only to reestablish south Texas and keep up with super conferencingOnly if they suffer more defections. Another thought, why isn't the ACC going after West Virginia. Is WV locked in some kind of contract? The same media rights deal the rest of the Big XII has that you keep ignoring. Will the big 12 grab Houston like they did tcu from the huge east/America??! Is WV locked in some kind of contract? The ACC rejected WVU after the SEC did.Yeah but I think things have changed. I think the ACC would be a lot more receptive to adding them now since they lost Maryland and the loss of Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, NC State are all very real possibilities. If the ACC could grab Louisville to replace Maryland and then extend an invite to Cincinatti, they could make a move back at West Virginia say hey, we are the first real super conference (at least by Quantity). Even if we lose 1 or 2 members, we'll still have more or equal members than the rest of the conferences.Remember the WAC? jgiff17
Exactly what I was thinking...how long did that last? I bet all those schools that left to make the MW are wishing they would have stayed together because the conference was pretty decent probably better than the big east at the time the bcs was constructed. Also what ever happened to the cusa and MW champ game that was supposed to happen?...

Also what ever happened to the cusa and MW champ game that was supposed to happen?...LOL no; one too many Texas schools, plus trips to Hawaii for everyone, and overall too many mouths to feed for their tastes. The schools that mattered in the Old, Old WAC did stay together, at least until the Pac-12 came calling. Also what ever happened to the cusa and MW champ game that was supposed to happen?...That merger failed due to the fact that if they did merge, both conferences would then lose the monies from past NCAA tournaments which they have participated in since money is paid out in the years after participating. Plus, exit fees would have been voided by both since they each would have "gone out of business".

ESTONES6
If Florida State and Clemson were the biggest advocates of adding Louisville, than I would think that the ACC isn't going to go down without a fight. Still a lot rests on the Virginia and North Carolina schools, though. Plus it gives West Virginia a recruiting in for the state of Texas to compliment the pipeline they have in Florida.Basically all the ACC has going for them is location and travel. Saint Zephyr III
So at this point I have to think Boise State and San Diego State defect back to the Big East as, somehow, it seems slightly more pathetic than the C-USA...To help everyone out, here's how the "Group of Five" are looking in 2015...the EXCITEMENT.C-USA (14) - Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Old Dominion, Rice, Southern Miss, Tulsa, UAB, UTEP, UTSAMountain West (10) - Air Force, Colorado State, Colorado State, New Mexico, UNLV, Wyoming, Fresno State, Nevada, Hawai'i, San Jose StateSun Belt (9) - Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, LA-Lafayette, LA-Monroe, Troy, Texas State, South Alabama, Georgia State, WKUBig East (13) - Cincinnati, UConn, South Florida, UCF, Houston, Memphis, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Boise State, Navy, SDSU, East Carolina
Philsphan
I feel bad for Southern Miss and UAB. They really don't belong in the C-USun Belt anymore. Both could be candidates for the Big East's 14th member.

FiddySicks
http://www.azcentral...conference.htmlIt's official, Grand Canyon University to the WAC for all sports beginning next year.Well, at least ASU will have a new tuneup game vs a D1 school that's just down the road...Wait... Do they even have a football team? This whole thing is just shenanigans. Not only that, but I just read this on another boardThe good news is that GCU wants to move up and has approached the WAC about membership. The bad news is that there's a four-year process to move up from Division II to Division I and the annual deadline for a school to notify the NCAA that it's beginning the process is June 1st. Since GCU apparently hasn't yet received a WAC invitation or notified the NCAA of its intent to move up, the earliest it can begin the process is June 1, 2013. That means the process would run until the summer of 2017, and GCU wouldn't achieve full Division I status until the 2017-2018 season. In the meantime I don't think the WAC could count GCU toward the NCAA's required "seven active Division I members" to remain a multisport Division I conference.Yikes. TBGKon
My gut feeling is that the Big 12 is the next conference to make a move. I think you'll probably see them select Florida State, but who their second choice is is up in the air. It could be Cincy, Clemson, or anyone else.
