2009 NFL Playoffs

There's a 2009 version of last year's Cardinals in this bunch somewhere. If I had to bet money on who it is I think I'd go with The Jets. The thing that concerns me most with The Jets is the fact that they have a rookie QB. I just think Ryan is the right kind of coach with the right kind of team to really screw up the post season for a couple teams.

I really thought FOX would all over an NFC East Match especially a game between Dallas and Philly.

I don't think it's up to the networks, but rather the NFL sets the schedule. How was Dallas/Philly NOT the best primetime matchup of the four games?

Of course FOX would've chosen that game for 4:00 on Sunday if given the choice...

I'm pretty sure that the networks fight it out to see who gets what (NBC getting one AFC and NFC game, and FOX getting the remaining NFC game and CBS getting the remaining AFC game.) I'm also pretty shocked that the NFC East game wasn't the Sunday 4:00 PM game, considering it's two of the biggest-market highest-raitings-getting teams in the league. Maybe NBC has more pull than I thought, or maybe it's payback for FOX protecting yesterday's game from being flexed.

FOX and CBS can't protect games in week 17. The story I heard was that NBC's contract requires an even amount of AFC and NFC games including flexing, and they're current +3 on the NFC side, so taking Eagles/Cowboys would've moved them to +4. By taking the win-and-in game involving the Jets, they've reduced it to +2. Originally FOX said after the game that the Philly/Dallas rematch would be Sunday at 1pm ET and most people thought FOX was locked into that spot ahead of time, but NBC decided that they weren't passing up a second Philly/Dallas game that meant everything, so the schedule was rearranged to adjust...

That's correct.

The Browns are done for the season. I need a bandwagon to jump on. Make a case for your team! :D (Baltimore, Cincinnati, and New England fans will be wasting their time.)

Well I'd make a case for the Jets but you're a Browns fan...it's bad enough as it is, so why torture yourself more than you have to?

Because it's what we do as Browns fans.

I'm in. J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

I picked the Packers in The NFC.

Yes, it seems like an extreme homer pick, but after watching Dallas the past three games, they have what it takes I think. Plus, they're coming off two consecutive shutouts for the first time in team history.

History shows that when a team sweeps another but faces the same team a third time (in playoffs), they're 12-7. To start off, the screen should work better against an Eagles team that is sure to blitz like madmen on Saturday. Tony Romo's become a game-manager more than simply a backyard version of an NFL quarterback too.

If Dallas gets those 3-and-shorts on offense and watches the big play like they did on Saturday, they should win.

Again, the Saints cannot play the Cowboys in the divisional round; the Saints are #1 seed, the Cowboys are #3 seed. If the Cowboys beat the Eagles, the Saints will play the winner of the Arizona/Green Bay game as that winner will be the lowest remaining seed (they are seeds 4 and 5).

It is what it is.

At first glance I thought this Jets-Bengals game would be a stinker, but watching NFL GameDay changed my mind. I want to see the Bengals win a playoff game for once, but then again it'd be fun to see Sanchez win his first playoff game. And who's got the edge after the Jets blowout last week? Who really knows what Cincy was trying to do. I'm more excited for this one than Eagles-Cowboys.
